I have been reading through many, many posts on this site and am coming to a conclusion with treatments. I hope it is not true, that's where all of you wonderful people come in....

How many of you have success stories or feel abx have worked for you???

Reason for my question... I have suffered for years of undiagnosed Lymes, and am currently seeing an ILADS LLMD that has me on Ceftin and Azithromycin. I do NOT want to suffer anymore and would like to figure this out before I waste anymore valuable time.

I hope this topic blows up with answers..

Thanks!

Look at the success stories part of the forum. [Smile] There are very few, but they exist.

My daughter has been in treatment since April and is SO much better than when she started. We think that she has been infected for about 10 years.

There is hope!! Keep going!

I have been in treatment for 2 and 1/2 years. Started to see noticable improvement at the 1 and 1/2 to 2 year mark. I think the average treatment can be anywhere from 2 years to 5 years. Of course it could be less or longer but I have noticed over the years an average length of treatment time.

Took about 18 months to 2 years of abx to see improvement. Nothing alternative worked for me.

I'm back to work full time the past 1 1/2 years

2 years and 8 months on abx. 95% recovered and still on abx.

I did ALL the natural treatments before abx. Highly recommend the abx route.

sick 10 years, reinfected 4 years ago. Been in treatment 3 years. Noticed major improvement at 1.5 years of oral abx. Now on IV and orals and 90% well.

Do you all consider yourself well if you are feeling better, even if you are still on antibiotics? I don't think I will consider myself well if I'm still on abx. To me, in order to be well, I need to be free of abx and other drugs.

I would consider being in remission...off abx.

My daughter was bed/house bound last Fall. Began treatment on multiple oral abx in April of this year and is now at 50%. She has been infected for 12 years, diagnosed finally last Feb/March.

She can get out of the house, hang with friends and go to school now. We thought she was dying last fall.

I'd call that success! Sure she's not done yet, not even close, but she has come a long way!

Slow and steady wins the race!

Yes I guess remission and success aren't necessarily the same. Maybe sometimes we have to shoot for success and getting our lives back and then worry about complete remission. So happy your daughter is improving! It breaks my heart to read about kids who are going through this.

Just over the two-year mark on combination antibiotics (all orals).

Greatly improved, working demanding full-time job. Still symptomatic, still Herx when I change abx and/or dosages, but clearly making improvement with time.

I do anticipate a near to full recovery and to eventually stop all abx, and my LLMD supports this projection.

Had Major pots symptoms . Could not breath or get out of bed.

Treated for lymes only and kept relapsing. Finally switched to zith

and Mepron for my co infection (babs) and can now get out of the

house and be a human being, In only 3 and half weeks.

The abx route has improved my health.

Once again great stuff. I know this is exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully, this will help others keep the faith also.

I went undiagnosed for almost 2 years and when I went on Doxy, I was amazed at how many symptoms I had that just went away in a week or two. It took another 9 months for everything else, had some lingering issues. Was well for 9 months, then got bit again. This time am being treated for Babs which I think I may have had before but didn't know it since now I am better than I was 4 years ago.

It's possible to get better, really it is.
