I haven't been able to wear contacts in years. My eyes are extremely dry and my lids are swollen. If I'm able to even get the lense in, it pops right back out. My eye doc says my eyes are as dry as a menopausal woman. I'm 30!

Could you have Sjogren's also? Many of us do.
There are several brands of contacts that are made for those with dry eyes. Ask your dr.

I dont have Sjogerns...no try mouth at all and I can make my own tears. my eyes will still water. I do have Hashimoto Thyroid/ Im on armour, but just got dxed w/bart and possible lyme. This all happened after my gardasil vaccine which i never EVER got it and my doctor kept pushing it on me

Yes. I am dealing with this right now. I have a clinical diagnosis of Lyme, babesia, and bartonella/BLO. I just started treatment to address the potential bartonella infection last week. Time will tell if this helps.

I have something weird - being treated for bart and wear a soft contact in my right eye only. Have terrible painful, dry, prickly, 'hot' left eye only, so the one without the lens. Go figure !

Are any of you using artificial tears?
This helps alot when I wear contacts.

For about 2-3 yrs I wore only one contact also. The DRIEST eye was the one without the contact. The contact lens can actually be protective.
These brands are designed for dry eyes:
Sofmed Breathables Oaysis (spelled weirdly.. something like that) Acuvue Advance with Hydraclear

Lymetoo did your dry eye get better with treatment?

Hey guys--I had this EXACT problem but fixed it...My opthamologist did the paper test on my eyes and said they weren't producing any tears/moisture....No, didn't have Sjogerns....
Anyway, I did an intense amount of reading and research and decided that the inflammation was so bad it wasn't allowing my eyes to produce/release moisture...At the time I was aware I was low on magnesium....After loading TONS OF MAGNESIUM, my eyes got much better...
Then, I was in my regular GP's office and I was asking her to test me for Vitamin D (I know I sound like a broken record about this). Anyway, she said she had a lady with Sjogren's who took 5,000 IUs a day and she was no longer symptomatic after a couple of months....
So...maybe lots of mag or D to help quell the inflammation...Of course I need to tell you I did all of this after I stopped abx so I don't know if my eyes would have improved while still on them....
Good Luck

I stopped using contact lenses years ago when I had Lyme. Lenses are not sterile and I did not want to reinfect myself again and again with any of the co-infections, whatever they were.
My friend lost one eye completely - had to be removed - to Lyme. She now has a wonderful glass eye and is almost blind in the other eye. She is legally blind and has turned into a wonderful painter artist with whatever sight she has left.
Take care and be careful.

No. I have Sjogren's now .. didn't before.
I've had Lyme about 52 yrs.

Knotweed helped with my eyes (microcirculation) - getting oxygen and potentially other herbal agents to the eyes (Ginkgo, etc)
