My doc wants me to take this soon for 5 days. It's a supposed de-wormer. I have never seen any hookworms, tapeworms, etc. come out of me. I had some testing from Diagnos-Techs Inc. stating I had tapeworm eggs and possible Roundworm (equivocal).
I always thought it was BS, but.....
Is this tough to tolerate? Any noticeable results?
YES, I know treating for worms is not a week-long project. It takes months or years. I do read!

Can't understand why you would think finding tapeworm eggs in your stool is B S? If they found eggs, you can bet they are there and you're infected.
Sounds like the roundworms are a possibility and a probability as well. You're lucky they showed up. I had a tapeworm, and 20' roundworms and they never showed up in testing. Hope you show some good results with the Mebendazole.

I think the lab found the tapeworm Ab through saliva which seems awfully suspicious. If the eggs were found in stool, I'd be in agreement. Who tests for worms looking at saliva seriously?
I'm not ruling anything out because I have plenty of symptoms and as you've mentioned many could be related to parasites/worms. I'll let you know how I do.

I am not entirely sure about this but it appears as though Mebendazole is primarily used to kill parasites that are located in the GI tract.
So, if any of the parasites have migrated outside of your intestinal tract then Mebendazole may not help you all that much. If this is the case then Albendazole may be a better option for you.
Seek: Diagnos-Techs Inc. is an excellent lab. Picks up many more things than great smokies lab. I've done this testing for years, once a year or more if I think something is up. The test I do includes three stool samples, and two saliva samples. One you collect the saliva in a tube and the other you put a cotton roll in your mouth.
I think but cannot remember for sure that the saliva is used to test for candida and food sensitivities.
Is that what you did? It's a very good lab and if they found them, you have them. Mine came back normal in all categories, as has been the case for a few years now.

Abxnomore, yes we had the same test. Mine was an Extended GI Panel with stool and saliva.
My test showed some bacteria in my stool: Alpha Hemolytic Streptococcus, Gamma Hemolytic Streptococcus, and Corynebacterium species. Moderate levels of each.
Borderline for Helicobacter Pylori.
Super high colon inflammation on the Alpha Anti-Chymotrypsin stool test (number was 450 and over 180 was considered inflammation).
The lab also showed Tapeworm (T. Solium) SIgA was detected - appears to be from SALIVA test oddly. It says a SIgA elevation usually reflects an intestinal immunocyte response to the tapeworm eggs/cysts being shed (about a half million per day!).
It goes on to say a patient should follow-up with serum IgG testing. My holistic doc I saw back then cared less and did no follow-up. He thought one bottle of Kroeger Wormwood could cure it all. No pharmaceuticals needed. Needless to say, it didn't.
Equivocal result on the Roundworm (Ascaris Lumbicoides) SALIVA test.

Seek, mine are normal because I no longer have Lyme, not since 2002 and I get good care from a good holistic doctor. Yet, even she said she rarely sees a patient with such a perfect test. Years ago I had tons of stuff, parasites, candida, high levels of e.coli, etc.
My doc swears by this lab, that they are far superior to others.
Yes, you have a lot going on there. I'm sure Lyme is adding to all of this but you definitely need to address it.

I agree. I looked back through my medical records and I was able to get a holistic doc to run the serum Western Blot IgG test for T. Solium. It came back negative, which oddly disputes Diagnos-Techs findings. The lab used was ARUP.
Abxnomore, what treatments if any did your holistic doc do to address your positive parasite results? I mean outside of typical Lyme stuff. I'm sure my body is messed up beyond belief.
Given the fact that maybe 1 in 500 docs will use specialty lab results and within that segment fewer will treat based on them, patients are left in a bad spot. I can see why salt/C is used. No one else will help.
The bad news is that the drug I'm supposed to take has little to no effect on tapeworms. My LLMD's office knows my results so it's odd they'd Rx something that doesn't hit it. Maybe they don't read closely enough?

My guess is that they are going after the ascaris first since it would be much easier to kill than a tapeworm.
Hubby's physical therapist is treating with an ACAM doc -- short courses of biltricide improved her G.I. symptoms and edema in legs. She talked her doc into leaving her on biltricide and alinia continuously to treat her tapeworm.
Think she has been on this treatment for a couple of weeks now. Says she feels the best she has in years. That the die off is nothing compared to the symptoms she was having before treatment.

I tried a long time to get Biltricide. My PCP refused and said no way I have parasites. That's good news to hear about his therapist. I kind of wish my LLMD would've used more than a 5-day course of Alinia. It seems inconsistent with other doc's protocols.

Seek, mine were treated many years ago by various doctors using herbs and antibiotics. I remember the product line was called Plant Amica and they were mostly South American herbs that were rotated every three months but it doesn't look like they make that product line any more. By this point, I can't even remember the names. Sorry.

I don't think doctors understand parasites at all.
Most of the Rx de-wormers only kill the adults. You still have larvae and eggs - millions of them!
And as for the short course, no way. I took Albendazole for a month and felt miserable. I was hugely bloated. Some type of tiny black dot parasite moved up to my tongue. Gross! I had a slimy black biofilm on my tongue!
Then I took Alinia (anti-protozoal) for a month. No bloating, but nothing impressive, either.
Then I did a week of Hulda Clark's parasite herbs. On day 2 or 3, I passed tons of flukes.
I switched to Humaworm, and in the first week I passed adult worms and segments. I found a larval roundworm on my spoon. (They hatch in the lungs. I think it inched up my trachea. Gross!) Plus more of the small black things.
Seek - I have no obvious parasite symptoms, and my Lyme treatment has been successful. I also had GI labs that came back positive for an unidentified parasite. My doc said cryptosporidium (a protozoan). She deworms everyone, and she didn't think I had worms!
I chose to treat parasites to satisfy my curiosity, and to leave no stone unturned. And, hopefully, to get rid of my remaining symptom, severe glucose intolerance.
Clearly, I am a worm bag.
If you don't find success with the 5 days of Vermox, go for the herbs.
The die-off isn't fun (when is it?), but I feel better every day. I'll be at this for at least a year, but I have to say, it's worth it.

Just want to add a note, and that is DO NOT SWALLOW ANY MUCUS THAT COMES UP IN YOUR THOAT NO MATTER HOW LITTLE!. The reason is that the musus can contain eggs and that is part of the process of the way the worms procreate.
