My son is always nauseated, has been off his antibiotics for a couple of weeks because of yeast and this has not helped ( I thought maybe it was the meds causing it ) he has always had it somewhat but seems it has gotten worse the futher he is in the treatment.

Could it be a coinfection ?

He really does not have any strong symptoms specific to any of them as far as I can tell.

He did test positive for Erlichia and never was able to handle the Doxy so I wonder about that one.

Any opinions ?

I would think yeast or babesia.

I only tested positive for bart, and that is all my LLMD thinks I have. I have had constant nausea for almost a year.

I had nausea early on. I believe it was probably caused by lyme; possibly by ehrlichea- in my case, probably not babesia, as it improved before I started treatment for Babs.

My friend had coxsackie B (test for it at ARUP lab). She had a hard time swallowing and was always gagging and was nauseated. Those symptoms are gone now. And she's running 3 miles a day.

Sounds interesting, but there's no treatment. What's the point? Does it go away on its own?

I've been on oxymatrine, which has dropped my antibody titers and I've felt better. Oxymatrine has also helped another friend of mine. She essentially has her life back now.

Is it constantly the same or worse after he eats?

Is he on a yeast diet?

Again, I was sitting in front of the computer trying to do some work. All of a sudden, my eyes won't focus well and my ears flutter. I also just had my lunch too.

I start feeling funny and dry heave like crazy. My head hurts now due to it. ALWAYS, ALWAYS the same pattern leading to dry heaving. I feel like my old cat I had 10 years ago. She was always dry heaving for no reason. [Frown] However, she actually spit up food. I never do. Just gag.

seekhelp~ Have you been tested for toxoplasmosis?

Seek,

Is your bilirubin elevated? Hubby always had worse nausea and more dry heaves when his bilirubin was elevated.

Basically for the last 10 years since he got sick (up until 5 months ago) he woke up at least 1 time per night with dry heaves and shaking (tremors, myoclonus) -- sometimes dry cough as well. It is still hard to believe that those symptoms just stopped overnight when he went back on IV Rocephin.

Actually the cough got worse (daytime only) for a couple of months but then adding IV Zithromax stopped the cough. There have only been maybe 3 nights in the last 5 months when he needed the IV Phenegran for the heaves and shaking.

Hubby had one alternative doc tell him a long time ago that he thought he had a chemical nausea -- triggered by the brain rather than the G.I. Over the years he did try zofran (expensive nausea med used for cancer patients) as well as the phenegran. Sometimes one med worked and other times the other one helped. Don't think either really helped much with nausea -- but they would stop the heaving when it got really bad and came and went for hours.

My guess would be babs causing the nausea unless you have a form of bart which kills off enough red blood cells to cause low hemoglobin and low hematocrit -- hubby had both problems.

Thanks for all the replies.

17hens, It is always there just sometimes worse, like in the morning when riding in the car.

Does not seem to matter as far as after he eats.

We try to be on the yeast diet, but also know we could do better in that regard.

I guess it's just another question that's hard to answer - as always with TBD.

Mine is definitely worse after I eat. Do you have any idea why this is?

Could be yeast then.

My son has had this nausea since he first got sick with LD... started with a couple weeks of flu like symptoms and never went away.

I have cut out every possible food: sugar, dairy, wheat... and now he doesn't throw up as often.

In researching high stomach acid vs. low stomach acid... I came across this website:
http://www.drdebe.com/stomach-acid-assessment.html
STOMACH ACID ASSESSMENT

I did this test with my son last monday and he never burped.

You will notice in the third paragraph there is a text link to another page :If you have not belched within five minutes stop timing anyway.
Here is that page: http://www.drdebe.com/reversing-hypochlorhydria.html

On that page, I found this to validate what I already suspect.
"Nutrient deficiencies can contribute to impaired HCL production. Histidine (an amino acid), zinc, and vitamin B1 are all needed for HCL production. If any of these are lacking in the diet or not absorbed properly, this can result in hypochlorhydria. Interestingly, the absorption of histidine and zinc are dependent upon the presence of adequate levels of HCL!"

My son has a zinc deficiency.

I know that because he has leukodynia or white circles lines on his finger nails. In this talk Dr. K. does on HPU (aka KPU) http://planetthrive.com/2010/04/hpukpu-protocol-for-lyme-and-autism/
he states that if you have the white lines no further testing is necessary... you have the zinc deficiency. (no white lines only means that further testing is needed)

So, to find out that no stomach acid is also caused by a zinc deficiency... only confirms that we need to address HPU.

I think the stomach acid is also tied to the nausea... no stomach acid = no digestion = stomach ache.

Per Dr. K. and my own experience, Parasites need to be treated if you have any chronic condition. There is no way around it. If you delay it, you are likely postponing solving other problems.

Parasites may cause many symptoms besides nausea. Google.

Take care.

When I first got sick, I had horrible nausea. Riding in a car made it worse. Also feeling like being gagged.

After 3 months of Ceftin, I was completely free of it. then made tragic mistake of getting cortizone shot for neck pain. All Lyme symtpoms returned , including nausea.

Now am on IV finally, and am having nausea again, plus other symptoms worse too. He thinks its a sign we are finally getting lyme burried deep.

I did figure out that taking Gaba supplements seemed to help, which might be an indication that the vegas nerve is irritated (lyme will do that)

But I don't know anymore. I also have treatment resistent Babesea, which lowers my immune system and causea Lyme to go into overdrive.

Agree with GiGi 110% about parasites being a big issue. EVERYONE should treat for parasites if you want to get well and stay on a maintenance dose forever as Hulda Clark suggests. Lots of info on parasites by doing a search on here.

what is the best way to treat parasites? Fiber supplement before bed time?

Posted by glm1111 (Member # 16556) on :

Antiparasitic herbs. Parastroy for example, or Humaworm, Hulda Clark, Hanna Kroeger are some examples. Do a search on here by typing parasites into search bar at the top of the page.

[confused]

parastroy, humaworm, salt/c, wormwood (artemesinin)
--- I never heard of fiber before bedtime.

Fiber aka which often is part of binders has nothing to do with parasites.

Parasites in the brain cannot be eradicated by humaworm, etc. It may surprise you that that is the place where many parasites reside. And that is why they are tough to get rid off. The meds have to cross the blood brain barrier. Don't confuse a colon cleanse with parasite eradicatiion. It takes more than that. But the treatment in itself is not hard to take. Your doctor needs to prescribe what works.

You will find a number of them listed in Dr. K's protocols of which I have listed a number of them.
Search here. They are all available with lots of explanations.

If you want to wake up in a little better shape than normally happens, take binders before meals and before going to bed. They will wrap up the neurotoxins that are being released during the detox phase at night, since most detoxing and die-off happens at night. Chlorella, Chitosan, Pectin, Betasitosterol, are binders and they help
to avoid recirculation and redoposits of the neurotoxins (die-off, metals, chemicals) which happens if there are no binders on board.

Take care.

Curezone has some good parasite threads.

Just remember not all parasites are the same.

Some take yrs. to get rid of.

It could be a long list of infectious diseases. If the individual hasn't been thoroughly evaluated for this symptom, then it may be useful.

If no cause is found, you can be much more certain it's related to TBI or associated infections.
