I recently tested positive with 10 bands reactive for IGG and 3 bands reactive for IGM.
I went to a doctor yesterday and they said it is not often results come back with all bands reactive. Exact words were "the results are very impressive"
I was retested yesterday. I will not know for another week or so. They did an ELISA and another western blot.
What are the chances that it is going to come back completely different?
I am confused and not sure what to think at this point.
The med assistant tried to explain to me, saying that when you live in an area that is prone to certain things your body starts to build immunity to it.
I highly doubt I have built immunity to lyme. 1 I have never been treated for it 2. I just found out 3 weeks ago 3. lyme is not an airborne disease. Sounds like hogwash to me...
Anyone that has experience or any information that will help me is appreciated!

The ELISA could come back negative.. just because that is what the ELISA is designed to do. They are NOT very accurate and basically mainstream medicine does not want to find OR treat Lyme.
If your test has that many bands, I don't see how it could possibly be wrong.
Could you post here which bands came back positive? ( we would all be impressed, believe me! )
The second test could come back "different" but would likely still show plenty of Lyme specific bands.

How long have you been ill?
Symptoms?

My question is why are you having the test re-done? Sounds like your docs are hoping the test comes back negative.

For IGG 18, 23, 28, 30, 39, 41, 45, 58, 66, and 93
For IGM 23, 39 and 41
I have familiarized myself with the meaning of my results. My question is, do you think the results are going to come back different with the test I had done yesterday?
Quest Diagnostics is the lab.

Looks like a sure positive to me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that counts as positive even by the stringent CDC standards.

It is likely that it could come back different. It shouldn't matter though. This test result is positive for Lyme Disease.
Also you should know that LD is a "clinical diagnosis". The test are only used by Lyme literate Medical Docs to back up the clinical diagnosis.
Many ppl are diagnosed clinically and never get all the bands you have.

In July 09 my right arm kept going numb and kept getting bad tingles in it. I let is go for a few days. Finally went to the ER.
When I got to the reception desk I couldnt talk, everything was slow, I couldnt see really, felt like I was going to pass out, I was slurring my words and my arm was completely numb.
It lasted for probably 10-15 mins. I even called my boyfriend and do not remember doing so.
The ER at 1st thought it was a stroke, then MS, then did a screening for lyme and came back negative.
I am always tired! When I was working I came home and couldnt be a mother. Right to bed I went.. Now I am home so I have a little more energy.
I from there have seen many many doctors. For abdominal issues which was told I have a kidney stone but never really passed anything. But did have a kidney infection.
Neck, shoulder, upper back, lower back, hip, knee pain. I also broke my neck in a car accident 7 years ago, so the doctors tell me I have chronic pain, possibly fibro from the spinal trauma.
About 3 months ago, I starting getting twitches, shakes and my knees feel like hammers are being taken to them at times.
I have already had heart surgery in 1996 and have chest pains. My cardiologist has said it is because of my heart disease. I am going to feel those things every once in a while.
4 weeks ago I got really really sick again. High fever, vomiting in bed for 6 days. Slept for 2 straight.
I get nausious and vomit all the time. I ended back at my doctors again and she tested me and those are my results...
And now my journey of trying to get proper treatment begins. Sad after all this time being told I need to see a psychiatrist and you might have fibro I get these results....
The doctor yesterday just made me feel like I'm lying.. Like I faked my test results.
