My left eyeball hurts - no burning.

I think it might be from toxoplasmosis which is not confirmed by bloodwork.
It showed on the thermagram already month ago
as a very inflamed area ( white spot on thermagram).

I am also on doxy and valacyclovir without any problems.

My doctor started me on silver eyedrops and wants me to switch now tobramycin.

The eye is not red and not itchy, just a pain deep inside the eyeball. It is also at night.

I use to get a pain in the eye as if it was being poked by a stick. There was another symptom too that went along with it but can't recall now.

When the eye started watering, the pain would stop shortly afterwards or lessen.

I know there are probably lots of reasons for this.

I still get it if I eat sugar or move the body too much or eat white rice or potatoes, flour, etc.

Difficult to tell because it usually happens when I have company and eat things that I usually don't eat and over do it physically.

Strange symptom. Just know I don't like it.

I tested positive for toxo in 1984...but docs didn't know what to do about it.

Eye stuff started in 2001 when I became too sick to work or do household chores. Dx with lyme in 2003.

I woke up this morning with a pain in my left eye too.

Feels liks it is scratched. Keeps watering. Light bothers it terribly.

I tried to put eye drops in thinking something is in it and it made it feel worse. Stung and keeps watering.

I am new to this too and do not know if I have a coinfection or what other kind of infection it could be?

I used a heat pad on my face/eyes for pain. It helped.

But you could try both heat/cold and see which works for you....

long time lymie here, lost my log info through many moves.

tobramycin - had a hole repaired in my macular 1 year ago and used tobramycin for one month. tobramycin is used to treat bartonella of the eye. I found that really interesting. Never could find out why that abx is used, but my retinal specialist always uses tobramycin. He also used another abx (can't remember the name); that particular abx is combined with a steroid. Hole is repaired, still have my vision in both eyes. I have low angle glaucoma in both eyes with several ops in right eye for that.

Thank you all for the information. I could try the ice pack.

Good to know the tobramycin is ok.
Probably I go for a check of my eyes after the holidays.

Today it is better with the silver drops and I saw a black spot inside on the lower lid, looks like a little pimple.

It could be bartonella but I also think I have toxo.
My eye is not watering nor itching.
