Interesting. Here's an excerpt:
********************************
Turns out, its all about polarity. Those in Eastern medicine, who study all about Chi and chakras, know that the head and the right side are our positive poles while the left side and feet are the negative.

It is generally held that viruses and bacteria are positively charged microorganisms. If thats so, they would tend to migrate to the negative poles, which would be to the left side.

Similarly, free radicals from air pollution, cigarette smoke, and other carcinogenic sources are positively charged molecules that seek to steal electrons from cells, thus creating inflammation in the tissues from which they rob these electrons. These, too, would tend to migrate to the negative pole (left side).

Sowe have inflammatory free radicals bombarding the cells of the left side that also have the highest concentration of viruses and bacteria within their cell walls.

No wonder most autoimmune diseases and cancer occur mostly on the left side.

Very interesting...my symptoms began on the left.

my 1st sensory/motor symptoms were from a brain lesion on the left side, causing right-sided symptoms.

I even walk to with my balance off to the left.

This is no mystery. Nearly everyone's symptoms here are on the left side, including me.

Upper body for me is almost all left side. Terrible upper back and left arm pain. However, as far as feet, it is all about my right foot, not the left! Right foot pain is hell.

Yup, all left sided here, except for my right thumb.

All left for me too, except I will get a right weak leg that comes and goes and right abdominal pain that waxes and wanes as well. I also walk with balance to the left. Weird.

Interesting.

Most of my pain/numbness left sided.

Pain in breast, armpit, arm, rectal floor, facial pain, headache, eye socket, nasal, ovary, colon all left sided.

Tremors, tingling, numbness,weakness-all left sided.

I have kidney cysts on left side, but right flank pain-odd.

Left side here too. Always assumed it was because I was bitten on left inner arm. Within days went to jaw, then to whole left side of face. Left eye pain for the next 6 years until finally tested positive. Now, years later, cataract surgery for left eye only.

Also, left knee, left shoulder, left ankle problems. Hmmm. Very interesting!

Not to be different or anything, but my symptoms have been on my right side. Right leg tingling, right side of face drooping, right ear hurting, right eye hurting, right side of mouth pain. When my knee hurts, which is very rare, it's the right one. Ugly hard lump on right shin bone, fatty lump on right arm. Left sided symptoms are left ankle area swollen and occasionaly face droopiness on left side. I used to have a left foot bone problem but that could have been from anything.

This theory is not true for me. I have mostly bilateral symptoms with more severe pain sites on the Right side. I was bit and had the EM rash on my Left knee.

My LLMD said that Lyme affects the left side in about a 3:1 ratio.

I for some reason have more bartonella symptosm on my right side but I'm not sure why that is...

apljack, shin bone lumps are a bartonella symptom so that's interesting!!

I'm all left too

To the point I'm becoming disproportional.
I need Bart or Babs to bring down my right side to even me out

: )

Be careful what you wish for, canefan!

bilateral with slight bias to left which got more obvious as I have gotten better.

And sudden onset in retrospect was left.

i wonder if the right side folks predominate in being left handed?
and others are ambidextrous? or that has no matter at all to it.

Posted by little_olive (Member # 28063) on :

I don't think it does, dee. My good friend is left-handed and her symptoms are still mostly left-sided. That's what I thought for a long time too, though!

Talked to another person who is mostly left side!

Posted by legend (Member # 29878) on :

Left arm (forearm to fingers) and leg affected. Arm feels like it's about to tremble but only does so slightly. Leg just feels tingly but I favor my right leg when I walk (even confirmed with Wii Fit 60/40!)

I am right handed, though.

Other than fatigue, all my symptoms are left sided too. Left eyelid, hair loss on left side of head, left knee aches. Weird.
