Do the "lyme diet"... no sugar, no white foods... that'll do it.

I debated on whether to post this but...I gained 40 lbs from being sick with lyme. Once I was better I tried sugar free, white free, exercise -- you name it, it didn't work for me. It was like I was....stuck, like my body was confused.
Now that I am symptom free of lyme, I worked with my LLND and did the HCG diet. I have lost the weight. You might want to google it, and I would recommend it when you are done your lyme treatment & healthy again.

ya I saw that diet! I would love to try it. Could you give me some more details!

I completely understand!!! Before I knew I was sick I lost 30 lbs in about 6 months...just kept falling off.
As soon as I started treating, I've gained back that plus more. I stopped some other meds-like naproxen and dropped 16 lbs in two weeks but now it's stopped.
I've been trying to lose weight with the diet, and I work a labor job...HA. Still stuck! I'm hoping my body will eventually just kick into gear again and start losing again!

I can relate to the weight loss while sick and weight gain while getting better.
My LLMD suggested the Hcg diet and the shots. Anymore info would be appreciated.

removing gluten from my diet has helped me lose weight.

I have just started treatment, but have been on an anti inflammatory diet for several years. I was not loosing weight and so I tried the HCG diet I developed serious Vertigo problems both times I tried the diet. I now believe this may have been a lyme interaction. I would be very careful about trying this diet.

jjb -- I agree, the HCG isn't for someone in the 'throws' of a lyme battle. I was successful in the diet only after I was symptom free & under the approval of my LLND, Dr. N. in San Diego.
I would love to talk more about this medical procedure (it really isn't a diet), but we have friends visiting from the States so I will be without computer access for the next week or so.
I will post links to yahoo groups & blogs that have more detailed info on the HCG diet. In the meantime, please feel free to PM if you would like more info.
Again -- like jjb stated above, you have to be 'healthy' to do the protocol.
I can answer more questions next week. Happy Holidays.
I would recommend signing up for the group and reading the 'Pounds & Inches' document written by the creator of HCG, Dr. Simmons. It explains the protocol in detail and the science behind the diet. Very informative
