Does anyone know how veterinary medicines are regulated for strength and consistency? Do they go through the same regulations as for drugs for humans?

Thanks!

This is such a sad question that I hear too often. The fact that animals are treated more effectively and more often for Lyme Disease than humans is atrocious, and the fact that some of us have turned to buying "animal" antibiotics because we can't get them from our doctor is just disturbing.

Vet medication is generally just human medications. I used to be in charge of ordering for hospitals and the drugs are the same. There are drugs that are just for animal use though
Dosing is not the same. But vet doxy is the same as human doxy.

Is the Bicillin the same? I have heard that it has formaldehyde in it and have never been able to determine if the human version is the same.
