I feel like Im at my lowest I've ever been.A relationship with this girl

ended. Asma like symptoms.. the symptoms keep changing. I feel

like Im all alone. The depression is painfull. Just got my 3 rd bottle

of mepron and zith. How long do most people stay on mepron for ?

I feel useless to people and hopeless. It's been a rough couple days.

I also feel that nobody really gets it, I was completely sane

before this disease. And know I feel like the chances of meeting

someone is slim considering my disease. Thanks for hearing me out .

Im sure things will turn around but for the meantime (I WOULD

NEVER HURT MYSELF) I have very disturbing thoughts.

So sorry your feeling this way. Did you read the Mepron Blues Link in the link page of this site?

Please try to take a week or so off and see if the depression lifts For some its amazing how the mepron can onset the depression and then stopping the drug lifts it. Then you can restart it again

This happened to me 3 times in my 9 or so months of treatment.
I was warned about it from my doctor so lucky I knew when felt it what to do. And how he put is was "you will know" and I knew.

I fear never meeting anyone again either. How old r u? I think we all have chances of meeting someone again but it is just harder and we though have to take care of ourselves first.

Talk to others. Reach out like you are now. Pm me anytime... I and we are all here for you..

Hang in there.. It will get better.

Your first action should be to stop that drug. I know many say not to give directions like that. and certainly ask your doctor etc. But at the same time this can be life or death.

I was ready to end it all .. even though I said what you said I would never hurt myself. but I sure felt like it and as it got darker I quickly (within days) did start second guessing that and felt I may have not control over that.. We go over that line and it gets so dark there seems to be no light.

Give it a try. And also call your doctor. Make sure you have support ... too.. No matter what.
Even if it is one person and even if it is a stranger or professional or whatever

Blessings to you.

Hang in there. .....
Others will give you lots of great advice too. Stay on line and in the support forum if you have trouble finding support because the people here can be your life line literally.

God Bless

My daughter had the same thing happen and thanks to the above advice, we stopped for one week (we did run that by our doctor).

It worked and have had no problems since.

Not a bad idea to quit to see how you respond.

It takes a month for mepron to reach maximum strength in your system. When you get there it is tough going for awhile. At four weeks I was very depressed and anxious. It is calming down now.

But I am still very nervous and on edge. I don't know what is causing that.

It is really hard to be grieving a loss and be on a drug that causes depression. Hang in there. Time heals everything.

Remember.. If you stop for a week you can go right back to it. And it was amazing for me how the feeling just "literally lifted" away when I stopped the drug. Then when I started again it was fine again for a good few months.

So a week is a small amount of time and small price to pay. TINY actually when you feel that depression..

Think it over and too talk to your doctor but..do not take it lightly and do not try to do the "push through" theory that i have NEVER Found to be benefitial in the scope of this disease. No way.

Mepron depressed me so much I almost killed myself. I have ALS and really didn't need any incentive to do that.

I'm more optimistic now that I"m off the drug.

I want to say this very cautiously because I know that Lyme/babesia/drug-related depression can kill people:
I had depression with treatment about 3 different times (Mepron/biaxin- for me I think the Biaxin is the depression-inducing drug). Each time, I quit the drugs for about a week or two, the depression ended, and then I cautiously re-started the drugs after I felt less mentally down. Each time, the depression didn't come back for a long time and I was able to keep treating and I was able to keep improving.

I happen to know that I am generally more optimistic/not-prone-to-depression than most people, so this advice might not work for someone who's more severely depressed. If your meds make you so depressed you're suicidal, don't try something like this without help- tell friends that the drugs or the disease makes you depressed and make sure someone can 'check up on you' if re-starting like I did in case the depression comes back or makes you suicidal as has happened to some people.

I did a round of mepron/biaxin.

It didn't make me depressed .. but being sick sure did!

I was the same way you were .. happy, healthy. Type a personality, never EVER worried or depressed.

But after 5-6 months of being sick i was bummed out .. it SUCKS!!!

i think it's a natural reaction to going through something so crappy, and i'm sure mepron doesn't HELP.

Now i'm 8 months into treatment. Mentally i still have down days, but i try to look at the bright side. I kept a diary of my progress so i could look at even the smallest improvements when thngs seemed bleak. Still helps.

You'll get through this, really. Just be tough!!

We all react differently to stress and drugs so what is best for one person might not work for another. It is ok to take a break for awhile if that is what you need. Even the doctors say don't overwhelm yourself.
