Any experiences here with French Green Clay?
(How does it compare with Chlorella)

I want to start taking it before bed - but I do NOT want something that becomes constipating.


Also - don't FGC & Chlorella typically do the ame things? (detox toxins, metals)

Most binders become constipating and that is easily corrected by taking something at the same time that works aginst it.

Chlorella and green clay cannot be compared because chlorella contains numerous substances that benefit us which clay does not have. Please search here and find more details. I have been posting about it on LN for many years.

When you talk about taking something that works against it - do you mean minerals? Vit C?

I saw old posts of yours where you took chlorella before bed. I don't recall you saying you took it with anything to avoid constipation.

Very simply -- chlorella contains beneficial nutrients, such as amino acids, chlorophyll, and digestive enzymes, as well as strong toxin binders. I have never had constipation problems with it, but it can be irritating to the gut so start slowly with it, and make sure it's very pure and has chlorella growth factor.

I've read a variety of research papers on chlorella, and the consensus seems to be that it does not act just on the gut, but can pull heavy metals and toxins from throughout the body. So it's important that you work with someone who knows their heavy metals detox stuff and has a good detox plan for you if you're taking chlorella and have any kind of heavy metals problem.

FGC contains a number of minerals and plant matter, but is not, as far as I know, considered a nutraceutical and does not contribute to supporting the body. It binds what it comes into contact with and carries it out of the gut. It can cause constipation and should be taken with lots of water.

It MUST be high quality FGC approved for ingestion -- not just the stuff sold to be used on your skin. Some practitioners recommend clay baths using FGC, as well.

Apple fiber with pectin (NOW foods puts out a good brand) is also an a good binder and detoxifier and and excellent source of fiber that helps firm up loose stools and prevent constipation. My husband had tried every kind of fiber/binder to help his gut -- apple fiber was far and away the best for him.

There are a variety of other binders, for slightly different purposes. Most common for Lymies are Cholestyramine (to bind neurotoxins recirculating in the gut); and charcoal (to bind pretty much anything in the gut (as far as I know, it's a contact binder, meaning it will not mobilize toxins/metals etc. in the rest of your body (outside your gut))

At one point I was taking FGC, chlorella, and apple fiber/pectin together (different times, same day). Really helped straighten out my gut. Now I just take apple fiber/pectin and intermittent chlorella unless I'm having significant problems (and probiotics, of course).

Yes, there is a difference. European Green Clay seems to have more health benefits.

I'm researching it now, and I might post updates if I learn something cool.

Thanks James. I'm using the bentonite a few times a week now, but notice in the salt/c plus protocol book I'm reading that he specifically mentions french green clay.
