I don't think you get it. my pH of my urine is usuallly fine. It usually correlates to my saliva.
This is very abnormal value. A value that I have never recorded..... ever.

I flushed my kidneys a couple times with cranberry juice and lots of water.
I am not as worried now as pH is back to normal. I'll probably sleep now.
I guess it will be best to see how it is in the morning. It's probably worth calling a doctor anyway.

I don't know if this is helpful or not, just found it after a quick internet search.
Glad you're feeling better, get some rest!! Let us know how you do.
A diet high in citrus, vegetables, or dairy can increase urine pH (more basic). Some drugs also can increase urine pH, including acetazolamide, potassium citrate, and sodium bicarbonate.
I particularily like the sedative and brain calming effects of magnesium, so I have been taking much than any sane person would take for quite a while. I was a tad alkaline today, but tried to buffer it with meat and cranberry juice and started calcium tonight.
I don't know if too much magnesium could make my pH above 9, but theoretically, I think it sounds possible. I am hoping it's not some kind of kidney problem.
Strange enough, on my last EDS screen, it said I had too much magnesium and was calcium deficient. With the amount of mag I was taking, it was probably right, but I ignored it.
