- I think it's actually very low. I'm thinking in the single digits. But, with so many undiagnosed cases, it's probably lower than anyone can imagine. I'm guessing about 10% of the diagnosed cases, maybe even lower. The fact that the EM rash is not always a perfect bulls eye also confuses the CDC and they don't count that.
The CDC is very wrong about a lot regarding lyme. They seem to be in a huge campaign with the IDSA to bury (accurate information about) lyme - and lyme patients. -

68% is absurdly high. The actual number will not be even close.

I truely believe MOST people NEVER get a rash. I never got one.
Although Jason, I see your new here. Let me just let you know that the same people that say 68% of people get an EM rash are the same idiots who say that lyme is curable in about 2 weeks of LOW DOSE Doxycycline. and most regular docs who follow the CDC dont even test for coinfections at all
The CDC knows NOTHING about lyme. I suggest you read these forums. Read the book "Cure Unknown" and watch the dvd "Under Our Skin" and then itll make sense to you why the CDC is WRONG WRONG WRONG. about practically everything

The cases that are more likely to be diagnosed and reported are the ones with EM rashes. And the rash is part of the case definition. So, that means it gets reported.
It is like in the speakeasy days of prohibition when you showed up at a door with a peephole. If you knew the password, you got in. If you didn't, you were out of luck.
No wonder that if you looked at the people inside, they knew the password!
