Back in May I was DXed with Lyme. I did 2 months of Doxy felt great until about Sept-Oct. Then I was sick with flu-like feelings (no fever) Now I have body aches and my hip is KILLING me. I have achey sore ribs and a VERY tender spot on my back. I feel run down like I am sick with the flu.
I have a refill on my Doxy, but that's the best my Dr. will do. She won't treat me anymore. I know I need to see an LLMD, but they don't take insurance and I can't afford it.
This sounds like my lyme is back, right?
Lyme sucks ad it's not fair that I can't be treated better.

Aw, dang it...it doesn't sound encouraging. Two months of Doxy usually is not enough to put you over the top.
No, it isn't fair that you can't get better treatment. How much Doxy do you have left and what dosage do you take?
Are you totally sure that there isn't an LLMD around you that might accept insurance?

Dear I*knew*it*was*Lyme, I am in a similar situation. My test results were too vague, so I cannot rule Lyme out completely at this point. Two appointments with an LLMD were canceled due to affordability. We are all out of work, and Endometriosis may be what is incapacitating me more. I was denied disability in 2009, and late last year was denied help from the state.
I had to see my PCP Friday, which was a waste of time. To make a long story short, she could not care less as to how much pain I am in. Needless to say, I spent the following 12 hours crying. No one understands the suffering and worry we endure. If I ever become wealthy, starting an organization for assisting individuals like us will be a top priority.

Post in "Seeking a Doctor". There are some in NJ who take insurance. You may have to travel a bit and some may not completely follow Dr. B's guidelines but it's better than no treatment at all.
Dr. D in NJ comes to mind and he will treat aggressively.

I see Dr D, he is wonderful, I know he doesn't take my insurance but my plan is not one of the best, He may take others. He does treat aggressively.
His rates are affordable though, especially getting over that initial visit.

Worst case scenario, order it online from India. You don't need a prescription and it is cheap. Get liver tests done - make up some reason.
It takes at least three weeks to arrive so order as soon as possible so your refill can get you by until then.
You should take 400mg a day divided into two doses. Taking any less will build resistance.
This is a temporary solution as very few people can cure themselves but it is better than allowing yourself to get sicker and sicker.
Even if the LLMD does not take insurance I do not see any reason why you cannot submit it yourself. If you can afford to be tested, or you already have been, it is harder for the insurance company to deny you coverage when you are positive.
There are numerous infections so you can theoretically be treated for one and then another and another to extend the length of time you need to get the insurance company to cover it.
When there is a problem with the insurance company covering the costs then it is best in my opinion to pay for the cheaper drugs yourself and not even report it to the insurance company. That way if you need IV you will not have already been given treatment and "cured".
Some people recommend herbs but I have found them to be ineffective for a difficult infection.

Self treat. Use a simple protocol like Dr. S and just use Biaxin/plaquenil or just Tetracycline. Order them online or have someone you know travelling grab a bunch for you in Mx or Europe or wherever. Go to the store and grab some big bottles of probiotics and you're all set.
Sounds like you are not in the "incapacitated" state of illness...this will keep you functioning and keep your life from slipping away until you have saved enough for an appointment or are cured.
