Anyone know why I would be craving salt? I usually have no appetite to speak of, but I am craving salt. Has that happened to anyone else?

When I crave salt, my adrenal function is usually low. Have you had yours checked?

I constantly crave salt. it is insatiable. I put salt on everything and only want very salty foods....
maybe I should have adrenals checked... is this a blood test? What would it look like on a blood results so I can see if I have had it done.

renny1985, from what I understand saliva testing is more reliable. I had adrenal testing done at Aeron Lab http://www.aeron.com/
Before having the testing done, I craved salt constantly. After taking the adrenal supplements prescribed by my doctor, the salt cravings stopped.

I am like Renny - I also constantly crave salt (I don't ever really crave sugar... I'm the opposite of most people and crave salt and spicy food). I put salt in almost everything I eat. I also put sea salt and electrolytes in all water that I drink.

Yes. I have both craving salt and low appetite. For me it means low blood pressure and fluid retention/weight gain. It can be adrenal related but for many it is the autonomic nervous system that is not working.

Terry,
ANS is related to adrenals.

Search for the Rehydration Cocktail that I have posted and do it for a while. Don't drink so much plain water - it flushes many minerals out - straight through . Dr. K. calls it the worst misinformation put out - drinking liters of water. Make it broth, mousses, soups, something for the body to metabolize rather than just flushing the body. You are losing nutrients you desperately need.
Make some sole with Himalayan Salt in a jar with lid. Let rocks dissolve to titration. Then use a spoonful to tast in your drinking water. Be sure you get honestygoodness Himalayan Salt in junks to make it. It never spoils and is always read to refill with more good water to fill the jar again. I think Swansonvitamins has it too.
Try read the book "Water and Salt" (by Hendel/Ferrera, etc.), it has a lot of important info we should all know. I got it years ago before it was translated into English.
