After 4 weeks of doxy, I start to see an increased amount of floaters in my vision field. Most of the time I don't see them unless looking against the bright sky or a white background like snow. They are mostly transparent and spherical and moving rather slow. I wonder if these are the so-called floaters.
Since last week, I also see another type of vision disturbance that I am not sure. It's like very fast moving object, or wave passing by my peripheral vision field. It's much faster than typical floaters that I mentioned above. Does anyone here experience this disturbance?
I am also experiencing dry eyes ever since taking doxy.
Thanks.

I just posted a question too about doxy and vision changes. There are some people who have side effects that are quite serious. You can google doxy and vision for more information. I watched a couple of youtube videos on it. It has to do with inflammation. It says you should consult your doctor right away and usually doxy has to be stopped. This is part of the email I received today from a friend: The other issue is he had a hemorrhage in his eye so we went the the eye doctor. The doctor actually knew a little about lyme so she wanted to look at his optic nerve, knowing that lyme can effect that nerve and vision. She found that his nerves were inflammed and referred us to a neuro-ophthamologist who diagnosed psuedotumar cerebri, a false tumor of the brain with inflammation of the optic nerve which can cause increase intercranial pressure in the brain amd vision loss. We have MRI and other testing this week. He said it is from the Doxycycline, the antibiotic he is on. So we stopped the Doxy and started a new antibiotic. I hope the info helps. Let us know how it goes.

- If you are having increased floaters, see your eye doctor just to be safe.
Most likely, the floaters are due to oxidative stress - and you need more antioxidants to clean up the "junk" and to help prevent the formation of floaters.
Sometimes, floaters can be a sign of a problem of the vitreous tissue in the eye. So, that's why it's good to check with your eye doctor and have her or him instruct you on how to tell the difference from that and regular floaters.

The DVD is very affordable - about the cost of one supplement - it's just about $20. and you get a book with it, too. The DVD is also much easier on your eyes - from your TV at a distance. The computer screen is much harder on eyes.
This 1 hour and 15 minute DVD plus 65 page illustrated study guide and eye chart was the surprise hit at the recent New York Yoga Expo and evidently with good reason.

Forgive my ignorance here but I thought increased floaters were one of the many symptoms of this grand batch of bugs. My # of floaters doubled and also got sort of a web pattern in my right eye along with double vision before I ever started treatment.
So if Doxy can cause this also how can one be sure whether it's the lyme or the ABX. Is it possible the Doxy just made the bugs uptight to where some new symptoms arose?

- Floaters are very common for many people. It can indicate low levels of antioxidants and too much "junk" in the body.
A herx can affect floaters and cause more to appear, so be sure your liver support is good to keep the "junk" in your blood stream to a minimum, so to speak.
And, yes, it could be the toxic junk from lyme itself. It's nearly impossible to know exactly what symptoms are from lyme toxins and what from lyme toxins that are ramped up from abx tx.
Liver and kidney support is still needed, whatever is the major cause. Specifically for the eyes, when the body is more toxic, so will be the eyes (and the ears). So, for the eyes: ANTIOXIDANTS are vital, in addition to the usual liver, kidney and "herx" support during lyme treatment.
Those ANTIOXIDANTS for the eyes are detailed in links above. Bilberry is a top one.
But, still, be sure to check in with your eye doctor to be sure it's not something more serious with the vitreous matter.
For anyone with any kind of eye disturbance, be sure to AVOID FRIED FOODS as they can damage the lining of the blood vessels. -

The anti-oxidant I do to clear all Lyme eye symptoms is mangosteen juice - it immediately cleared up eye symptoms when I started drinking it.
There are lots of brands out there - I do the Ultra one from Trace Minerals with 70 minerals added.
If you try it, go slowly and drink water also, as it can be powerful.
