Day 4 of ANY abx usually produces a strong herx reaction.
Have you tried any other abx yet?

Dear anjiell, Sorry you had a such an awful night!
Sounds like a herx, with symptoms of babesiosis flaring: - palps - sweating - chest tightness - vomiting - dizzy - unable to take a full breath - difficulty going upstairs
Implement assorted supportive therapies so you won't be totalled during treatment. Ideas: - Take Rx abx IN THE MIDDLE of a large meal. If on Mepron or Malarone, many CLD patients take all their abx 2x/day, in the middle of breakfast & mid dinner. NOTE: B & D must contain at least 25 - 27 grams of total fat in order to assimilate the atovaquone AND combat nausea. Once I awoke to vomit in the wee hrs after eating dinner with only ~21 grams total fat w/Malarone dose.
- Do NOT lie down after eating. Stay nearly upright for at least one hour after any meal.
- Avoid bending far forward after a meal (ex, reaching for lowrer rack inside dishwasher or picking up items from floor).
- Start to elevate the head end of your bed for "incline bed therapy"
- Sleep nestled upright in the corner of your couch w fav blankie & fav pillow
- Sleep in a recliner
- Listen to soothing music thoroughout the day for comfort & healing boost.
- Be sure to do some gentle detox daily. Lots of water with lemon juice, epsom salt bath in the evening, etc.
- Whenever you feel nauseous, be sure to sit up. Try to eat small amount of something bland, like brown rice or rice crackers, just to absorb some stomach acid?
Maybe do a search on LymeNet (found in the center of the screen above this thread) for "vomitting" or other key words to describe your most troubling symptoms lately. It's amazing how much useful info members contribute!
Truly wishing you well, Smile

Biaxin and Azythro are very very similar. No suprise you had the same reaction.
Did you check any other meds you might be taking for interactions?
Biaxin can mess with the electrical function of your heart. Specifical slowing down intervals between waves.
Normally this isn't an issue, but sometimes when taken in combination with other medications that do the same thing it's advised to use caution.
