My wife used Doxy before and now she added Cipro yesterday night. Today early in the morning she felt hot in her neck area ( this is going for a while. She feels hot in the middle of the night) and after few hours on waking up she told me that she is feeling very cold and shortness of breath.

Is this normal?
Thank you,
Sai.
editing to update.

Today morning she woke up with shakiness in hands and anxiety. Please let me know if she is herxing or a side effect to Cipro.
Sai.

It has been my experience when I treat one infection that another one emerges. It sounds to me like babesia, which is not affected by those drugs, is coming to the forefront. I had exactly the same experience but did not get treatment until it was full blown.

As it is difficult to control babesia as well as very expensive, the sooner she get medication for it the better.

Bartonella can also cause hot flashes and it is said that there can be sticky sweats with it. Most of the time with babesia people complain about drenching sweats but I never had this symptoms. Some people have very few symptoms.

Air hunger, shortness of breath, lack of stamina, anxiety, chills, headaches and dizziness with severe mental fog were my symptoms - the full blown infection ones.

Before it took over I just had bouts of feeling like I could not get a deep breath and loss of stamina. Hot flashes and headaches came and went.

Thank you nefferdun. What did you use to treat Babesia.

When my wife goes to her LLMD next month I will tell her to ask about Babesia.

I agree with nefferdun, except the shaky hands and anxiety sound more like Bart to me. Magnesium right before bed helped me greatly with this.

I'm treating Babesia w/ mepron, zith, bactrim ds and it's working really well.
