It makes me think that "lyme arthritis" is a hybrid arthritis that has properties of both osteo and rheumatoid. I think the bacteria gets in the joints/synovial membrane/cartiledge and causes an autoimmune reaction which causes the inflammation. I also think the bacteria "eats" the cartiledge in the joint.

It appears like this "arthritis" I have could be a progressively destructive lifelong ailment. I HOPE not though. I'm hoping that somehow the damage will stop or reverse.

Of course this is all just my opinion. Not an expert.
