I always clean enema bag, but what is the best way to sanitize to make sure it's free of bacteria?

Anyone know where I can order a clear bag or a box of disposable bags would be even better.

I havent seen disposable bags....

I just wash with bleach. Fill up the sink with water and pour in some bleach and just let the bag sit for 10 minutes or so-- make sure the nozzle and the hose are in there too. I think thats all you really need to do. Then hang out to dry.

I clean mine with vinegar.

After one year's use I was curious and cut it open. The bag was clean inside but I wasn't happy to see the glue used to seal the neck to the bag.

Best bet is the stainless steel enema bucket.
Amazon sells it. I keep meaning to buy it

I'm allergic to latex so I haven't done the enemas yet, but want to!!

Lauralyme - if you try the stainless bucket, please let us know how well it works. I've had my eye on it for a few months, but I'm not sure.... It looks like it would tip easy and spill.

Is the enema bag for detoxing?
I'm new. What do you put in it?

never did an enema in my entire life. I feel stupid but wouldnt even know how? Is this a good thing to do.

I have only been on one abx omnicef oral for over 2 months now and not sure if I need much detoxing at this point?

Posted by Pam08 (Member # 19203) on :

Tammy...there are latex free enema bags. You could check that out as well as the stainless steel buckets.

I don't have a latex allergy but the disposable ones that I put a link to are supposed to be latex free. There are better ones than that though. I want to say some of the good non-disposable ones are made of silicone but not positive. I know they can be expensive though.

They actually say it is best to use latex free enema bags but I can't remember the reasoning for that.

HorseHelper...the enema bags are for detoxing. People usually use them for coffee enemas. If you google coffee enema you will find lots of information.

You're welcome!

I have been doing the coffee enemas per my doctors recommendation so I am not familiar with the vinegar method.

Hopefully someone else will come along that can weigh in on the vinegar method.

I found this one internet: "Vinegar Enema"

Apple Cider Vinegar Enema (ACV)

Vinegar is one of the most underrated remedies in the world. It is used by people as a cleanser, and medicine. you can use vinegar to clean your windows, stain remover, chewing gum dissolver.

It can also be used in an enema solution to increase the acidity in the colon. The PH factor in the colon and small intestine need to stay in the optimum range to function correctly.

When the urinary pH is between 6.5 in the a.m. and 7.5 in the evening, your body is functioning in a healthy range.
6.5 being alkaline, 7.5 being acidic.

Apple Cider Vinegar has been used as a successful remedy for a number of ailments, including a method of dissolving internal stones in horses. Humans tend to abuse their bodies under some strange theory that we are invincible, allowing huge amounts of waste matter to accumulate within the system.

Occasionally the body could do with some help.
Apple cider vinegar contains over forty vitamins and minerals. It releases toxins from the liver and gallbladder and has helped, people with high blood pressure, and many other problems.

Other ailments helped by consuming apple cider vinegar are people with high cholesterol, insomnia and fatigue, liver and kidney problems, asthma, plus many more. After prescription pharmaceuticals entered the world, people tend to forget about alternative healing methods that can help cure or reduce the aches and pains that we spend thousands of dollars on daily.

In enemas, try to hold the vinegar and water mixture about 5 or 10 minutes before releasing it.. This will allow for greater absorption in the colon.

Ingredients:
1 to 4 tablespoons. Apple Cider Vinegar
1 to 2 quarts warm filtered water ( Mixing )
Water Temperature 103 to 107Fahrenheit Warm water helps the colon relax so the enema may be retained the easier.
Directions:

Add solution to enema bag, mixing with warm filtered water to achieve the desired amount.
Hang enema bag about 24 in. above rectum. A good tool for this is the IV Stand for Enemas
If you need better flow control of the enema solution. The ramp clamp is a good option.

The left side position is the position most often used to receive take an enema.
Insert nozzle/rectal tube into the rectal opening, always use a lubricant when the inserting anything into the rectal opening [anus]( Super Salve Surgilube Vaseline 13oz. Personal Lubricating Jelly Astroglide Personal Lubricant K-Y Jelly Personal Lubricant). Many people use vegetable oil or olive oil as a lubricant.

Inject solution slowly, approximately one cup per minute (8oz.) and take as much as possible.
When the desired amount has been achieved remove the nozzle.
Lie in position for several minutes you can massage abdomen while waiting.

Hold the coffee solution for 15 to 30 minutes.
If you cannot hold the coffee solution for the entire 15 to 30 minutes just move to the toilet and release.
After you have released the solution try lessening the amount of coffee solution in the water and repeat the enema again.

When you have held the enema for the required time move to the toilet and release the enema.

Massaging the abdomen while expelling the enema helps move the contents in the colon toward the rectum.

The best position for expelling your enema is squatting. The squatting position puts pressure on your abdomen from your thighs.
In many countries, toilets are made so that people squat when they move their bowels. Squatting, supports the abdominal wall and the bowel as we bear down, this brings about an easier bowel movement.
People who use the squatting position tend to have fewer hemorrhoids, hernias, anal fissures, varicose veins and don't use as many laxatives.
The Welles Step is a tool that positions your body so that you are squatting when you sit on the toilet.

Oops! Laying on left side is suggested.

I just did it! Wow! Great! The vinegar has a clean scent also.

Also, with apple cider vinegar, you can clean the bottom of your iron, works greeeeeeeeeeat!

Now, I have to research how often it should be ok to do.

www.sawilsons.com
carries disposable enema bags and they also sell organic coffee that has not been roasted. They were recommended to me from the Weston A. Foundation.
I love it and am able to reuse the bags a few times by sanitizing with small amounts of bleach and water. They also have a sanitizing spray to use in addition.

What's the consensus on the worthwhileness of such a crazy procedure? I haven't done it yet, it seems to freaky and too much prep / cleanup. Is it worth it?

I just started this week and have been using the disposible enemas

I do the regular enema to flush then I refill with the coffee

I was looking at getting a bag but cv's wallgreens etc none of them stock it then I thought about having to clean it etc...

I think I will continue refilling disposable enemas they are like a dollar each and I use each bottle for one use and discard

Welcome Paul! Reminds me of the cig mom used to smoke, "Pall Mall", was that it?

Dan, really does make me feel good to know the junk is "out of the trunk". Try it, then you see. Things are a job at first, then you'll get used to it.

I believe it's important to rid the toxins, seriously. Maybe it's a women thing!!!!

Dan
I thought the same thing, it just sounded so weird.
Until I got brave and tried it

Is it worth it?
Absolutely yes

It has been one of the most effective detox treatments for myself as well as being very inexpensive.

After the coffee is made and cooled down, the procedure only takes about 40 minutes.....and the results are immediate.

Ok...I just did it. I had my Starbutts [Smile]

Questions:

1. Making the coffee. Do you make yours in the coffee maker, or what? I boiled water in a glass pot and added 2 tbs of coffee and then tried to strain it through a mesh strainer. Couldn't get all the grounds out, so ran it through a coffee filter...what a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was a pain.

2. I didn't feel any squirting from my liver/gallbladder area. Are you SUPPOSED to feel this?

3. I'm starting to feel like I drank a cup of coffee. I feel more jittery. I thought this didn't get in your system? I will use less coffee next time, but I only used 2 tbs this time to make it, and didn't even use the whole thing. I threw half of it out because I made too much.

Overall first impression....so far I do not feel a benefit. I just smell like coffee and a tad weirder.

Paul,

When you do the water enema before the coffee - is it the same procedure as the coffee enema?

Except you're not holding in the water?

Posted by Pam08 (Member # 19203) on :

Hambone,

It is best to brew it in the glass pot like you did. What I had to do was buy and extra fine strainer because coffee grounds were getting through my regular one as well. Once I did that it was fine.

There may be a bit of sediment (not grounds) but that is ok. Once I pour it into the bag most of that stays in the large glass measuring cup that I strained it into.

It is best not to use coffee filters unless they are chemical/bleach free. So really an extra fine stainer is probably best.

Also I don't feel the squirting of the gallbladder either. So I don't know if everyone feels that. I also make my coffee really weak so that could be why.

I use weak coffee because I am overly sensitive to coffee so I wanted to make sure I didn't have any issues.

I am only doing 1 1/2 teaspoons right now but hope to work my way up to full dose. So maybe you can start out lower and work your way up as to not feel jittery.

Also I have read that if you do feel jittery than you could just have the bag hanging too high. If you hang the bag too high the coffee can go up too high in the colon which is where it may get absorbed.

So try hanging your bag lower as well.

So far I haven't really felt anything from these either. Probably because my coffee is so weak and because I am doing so much other detox stuff in addition to this.

BUT with that said...the more I do them the more I wonder if maybe they are doing something for me that I am not noticing right away.

I am starting to think that I have a little more energy when I am doing these versus when I am not. I am not positive on that yet. So they might actually be helping even though I don't notice anything immediately afterwards.

I guess just try it out for a bit and see how it goes.

If I do a coffee enema perhaps the boogers will get hyper and run right out! What do you think? I believe it is not a bad idea. That's my next adventure instead of vinegar!!!!!!

Then it'll give'm little headaches and they'll die from pain! Hum...... I'm likin this idea more and more!!!!!!!!
