Been a while since posting last. Wife had a back slide with Lyme symptoms and tested positive for a new infection. LLMD suspects Bartonella as well. Igenex to follow. Wife is back on Omnicef and also A-Bart.
I was having night sweats and started to worry about me possibly back sliding and/or having a new infection. Anyhow, I figured I would try the A-Bart, see what would happen. Within one night on the drops the night sweats stopped. It's been a week and I was able to ramp up to the 20 drops. Night sweats have not returned and two other positive things have happened. For the past three months I've had acne on the side of my head, very strange as I have never had acne, even as a kid but that has cleared up and my mood seems improved. Anyone else care to share their experiences? Also, after ramping up to 20 drops a day how long should a person continue?

Great news. STAY ON IT! ha And do so for awhile.
An LLND in Cali who practically wrote the book on how to use Byron White formulas recommends a target dose of 25 drogs. If you don't get an aggravation of symptoms - then settle @ 20 drops b.i.d. for awhile.
I suspect the garlic in A-Bart is halting Bartonella in its tracks (garlic blocks bacterial quorum sensing - aka bacterias ways of communicating their actions)

OK now, but had two nights with herx reactions since posting. One night was severe back pain, straight down the spine and shoulder/ neck pain. Woke up the next day with no problems. The next night I had a bad headache and shooting pain in my right eye. Had to go to bed early and just be in the dark. Woke up and the pain was gone. Maybe it was a reaction getting to 20 drops 2x a day. Who knows, but to me it was an indication the drops are working.

jj guitar,
That's a fast ramp up to 20 drops
Do you have a heavy load of Bartonella and other co-infections?
Posted by jjguitarranch (Member # 7621) on :
Not sure... Never tested positive for co-infections through igenex. Have tested positive for Lyme. It was a very quick jump to 20 drops, 2x per day. Probably means little to no exposure. I'll continue for a month.

What else blocks quorum sensing besides garlic (I'm allergic to garlic)?
Thanks,

I think japanese Knotweed
Do you guys combine A-Bart and A-Babs together with water?
Or do you do each formula separately?

Ugh... Japanese Knotweed sent me to the hospital 2 years ago and I'm still not back to where I was before taking it... Well, thanks anyway...

Japanese Knotweed sent you to the hospital?
Can you explain more
Knotweed is one of THE safest herbs to take.

I started Buhner's protocol (Andrographis, Cat's Claw, Japanese Knotweed) one herb at a time to try to cut down on serious herxing. I started with the Cat's Claw, and seemed to be doing fine after several weeks on it. Then, I added in the Andrographis slowly and seemed to do fine after a few weeks of both the Cat's Claw and Andrographis. Then I started with a small amount of the Japanese Knotweed. Seemed to be doing fine and then 1 week after starting it, I no longer could swallow anything at all - no saliva, no water, no food. I thought I was imagining it, but 5 days later I was in the ER with severe dehydration and ketoacidosis (no, I do not have Diabetes...ketoacidosis is very rare in non-diabetics). Severe, body-wide muscle pain and spasms is what sent me to the ER. The doctors there told me I wouldn't have lasted much longer if I hadn't gone in when I did...
10 days later, I still could not swallow, but was sent home on IV food/fluids. My entire GI tract had shut itself down. I've had parts of my gut shut down before (stomach, small intestine), but never the esophagus or the whole GI tract before.
They also told me I was not absorbing anything that I had been eating for a long time (except maybe some protein), so they thought the ketoacidsosis was secondary to starvation. They also thought I was doing this to myself intentionally. NOT SO!!! I had been eating ok before trying the Japanese Knotweed...
I won't touch the stuff ever again...

That is horrible Razzle. I had a problem with andrographis but not knotweed. For the most part, herbs don't seem to help me much.
But TOA free cat's claw seemed to help keep the lyme in remission while I was treating bart.

Andrographis is very problematic.
But that also sounds like some major herxing.
One of my first Lyme symptoms sent me to the hospital with inability to swallow, heart racing, etc
I thought i was dying.
Either Knotweed was hittin Bart in your heart area. Or Andrographis was killin some spirochetes.
Did you continue on Andrographis after that? What kind of knotweed were you taking? How much did you start with?

I haven't taken any of the 3 Buhner Protocol herbs since the "crash" in 2008.
I don't think it was the andrographis, because I was fine when I was just taking the andrographis and cat's claw. It was only after adding the Japanese Knotweed that everything went crazy.
I was taking the Natural Factors knotweed Buhner recommends in his book.
Here's what I was taking:
 Progena Andrographis (200mg) x 3/day Solaray Cats Claw (540 mg) x 3/day Natural Factors Resveratrol (80mg) x 1/day
Everything else I was also taking at the time was stuff I had been taking for a long time and had never had problems with.
Thanks,

Boy - 80mg 1/day
I don't wanna say what the cause was - because only you can be certain (you obviously know better than me)
But I just wonder about Knotweed getting blamed here. I've NEVER heard of anything like this.
And from 80mg?

200mg Doxycycline (IV, not oral) did something almost as bad...it shut down my colon...and I had to get off the doxy and get colon hydrotherapy to get things moving again...my usual stuff (high dose magnesium/vitamin C, electrostimulation of the colon, as much fluid intake as I could handle + extra IV fluid, laxatives, etc.) was not enough...
Apparently, directly going after the spirochetes does drastic things to my gut...
I've probably had Lyme for over 30 years, so it is thoroughly entrenched. And I've had gastrointestinal problems for most of that time...

Dang, that's rough - I'm in same boat recently.
It's apparent to me that Bart and parasite die-off are REALLY shuttin down my colon
(Bartonella can stop or slow down peristalsis in intestines)
