I want to thank all of you for the great advice you have given me in the past.
I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and my LLMD started me on 3000mg of Amoxicillin a day. I have read many times that this is a safe drug to use during pregnancy? Has anyone had any problems with Amoxicillin while pregnant?
I am concerned because I have been taking mostly tinctures, and herbs lately. My LLMD decided to take a more natural approach after I went through liver failure last March. It took me 4 months for my liver to recover. I'm VERY concerned about my situation and I hope everything goes well. My LLMD is checking my liver count every 2 weeks to make sure there isn't any issues with the amoxicillin.
Has anyone else been through a similar situation?
Thanks for your help!!!

Are you taking the herbs now? is that ok with your LLMD?

No I'm not on any herbs anymore. There is no proof that they are safe during pregnancy, and they keep reminding me that it is safe to take amoxicllin. But I never realized how much. 3000mg seems like alot to me. It's 6 pills a day. Sometimes I question my LLMD now because he told me to take Milk Thistle and Med Caps DPO when my liver was failing. These only made me worse and my liver kept going down hill. Fortunately, I posted a question about my situation on Lyme.net and a few people suggested that I stop everything to give my body a break. Thankfully, I did and was able to see a Liver specialist. The liver specialist (hepatologist) said anytime I have liver problems I am to stop everything. I couldn't even take tylenol, vitmains, nothing. And it took 4 months for my liver to recover. As you can see, I am scared out of my mind to take 3000mg Amoxicillin, especially while pregnant.

My wifes LLMD put her on IV Rocephin during her pregnancey... Baby was born and tested negative for everything on the MDL newborn panel. Search for posts by me and you can read about it. Hang in there, STAY POSITIVE and good luck!

Thanks for the advice jjguitarranch. I have never used IV anything. Isn't IV antibiotic harder on your liver than oral antibiotics?

I can sympathize with you because my daughter had to deal with highly elevated liver enzymes as well. She is off all abx since Nov10.
