Tests came back negative again. Neurologist tells me that the zoloft that I have been taking for 8 years isn't working anymore and thats why I feel so sick. Wants me to change to cymbolta. I am having a lumbar puncture next week. Also said that diabetes might be causing sickness but sugar has been well controlled for over 2 years. Killer headache, ache all over, tremors, numbness in face, can't keep a thought in my head, mild neuropathy, leg cramps, electric zaps through my body, trouble sleeping, lost 25lbs,pain in joints, back and neck. I own 3 horses that I care for twice a day and 3 dogs. I live on eastern Long Island and have taken 30-40 ticks off of me in the last year. None attached. I was treated for Lymes 2 years ago on Amoxicillan for 2 months. I don't think I ever got rid of it. Where is this going?? Seeing a "Lymes Guy" on Monday. Can't do this much longer

What are you having a lumbar puncture for? If its for lyme, its not a good test, very inaccurate. I would never do a LP to test for LD.

Murph, I just posted a story in the general section about just finding out I'd had Lyme bands since 2001 and was never told.
I was put on an SSRI instead, and 4 years later it "stopped working" and I was put on a drug merry-go-round that did nothing to help and made me worse. It was Lyme the whole time.
I don't think you got rid of your Lyme, either, and these doctors are doing the same thing with you with switching up drugs instead of addressing the root cause.

I suspect the same thing. Thank you for responding. Hopefully this Dr. I am supposed to see on Monday is going to think the same thing. He has a reputation of being a Lymes Dr. Monday can't come soon enough. Thanks again.

They are checking for LD and for MS with the tap. I don't know if it's the right thing but I am desperate. I am hoping this Doc I see on Monday tells me to cancel it and starts to treat me for Lymes. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Systemic enzyme therapy for the pain. (I use Wobenzyme, which also reduced the headaches.)
Pharmaceutical quality fish oil (OmegaBrite or Country Life Omega 3 Mood) This reduces body and joint pain, and headache.
B vitamins and sublingual B12 This reduces the neuropathy.

I don't remember where I read this... Lyme Disease very rarely shows up with the lumbar puncture.

I am currently reading "Healing Lyme: Natural Healing and Prevention of Lyme Borreliosis and Its Coinfections" - my doctor recommended reading it since my son is not tolerating abx and we are starting to treat with herbals.
From page 47:

Supplementing magnesium helped my son's shaking. Make sure it is NOT the magnesium oxide (common and not absorbed well).
Magnesium citrate, taurate, malate, glycinate, carbonate or succinate
Mag oils are also absorbed through the skin and bio-available.
