Hi,
I posted a question recently, but am not really getting the answers I was hoping to get. So I am rethinking what I asked, and now reposting.

After all you have gone through with different doctors, and different treatments, is there a treatment that you would recommend? I have an offer by my parents to help with ONE type of treatment that I cannot otherwise afford, and I would love to hear from you what you would do. Or what you did do. I am currently on antibiotics, and many supplements, but am looking for experience with things like rife, IV Vitamin C, Bionic 880, etc.

It's such a difficult question because what works for some does not work for all.

I like my FIR sauna. It helps me detox and makes me feel better after I exercise.

Plus, I am always cold. Sometimes I go in right before bed... not so I sweat, but just until I warm up. I go to sleep quickly and sleep like a baby.

If I had extra money to blow on something new... I would buy a GB4000 or a Doug Coil.

I agree a FIR sauna is an excellent investment for health, lyme or not.

You could always drop into spas/ massage places to try the sauna and see how you feel afterwards.

That is so nice of your parents to offer that

I would probably find a lyme literate herbalist. In my opinion herbs plus antibiotics will help more than either one by themselves.

Things I would not do -- no real long term benefit for hubby -- IV Vitamin C, IV hydrogen peroxide, IV ozone.

Other options that will help with symptoms, but not kill anything -- weekly massage, cranial sacral massage, lymphatic massage, detox foot bath, chiropractic adjustments, IV glutathione.

A lot depends on what your primary symptoms are and what treatments you have had. Many cannot afford IV antibiotics for example -- but personally I think that could be a waste of money unless bart is treated first.

And as I said in the other post -- there may be some medical tests that you have not had done because they aren't covered or are very poorly covered by insurance.

Tests that can be beneficial include the functional detox profile from Genova Diagnostics (the one where you swallow an aspirin, some tylenol and a caffeine pill) -- measures your phase 1 and phase 2 liver detox pathways.

The ION profile from MetaMetrix is much more expensive -- measures everything from fatty acids to lipid peroxides to amino acids to various markers for nutritional deficiences to candida markers.

If G.I. issues are present then the panel from DiagnosTechs lab is very good.

If you have significant viral issues -- then UVB treatments might help -- fairly expensive.

As for tickborne tests -- in my opinion the blood smear from Clongen labs is defintiely worth the cost.

If we had extra dollars I would probably get the FL1953 test from F lab and also do some testing with SpiroStat. I wish the Galaxy Lab was doing testing but they are back into research mode. If I was being really extravagant I would also do the ImmunoSciences lyme panel and the NeuroSciences lyme test as well. And if I really wanted to break the bank I would retest hubby's Borna virus from the lab in Germany.

And to not leave out the alternative medicine side I would love to have hubby tested on an Asyra machine. He has been tested on similar machines but never by anyone that was lyme literate which would probably make a difference.

I am sure I am missing quite a few things, but this list should give you some ideas.

searching4truth - what did you wind up doing?

Thanks for the responses. I have not been able to take them up on the offer yet. They just moved, and needed to wait before they could afford to help out. I think the best thing for me to do is get more testing done. I have not tested for confections yet. Nor have I done the tests for heavy metals that my doctor wants me to do.

It seems that no matter how I treat, if I have unaddressed confections, or heavy metals, I will not get better. So I think the best thing I can do is get a true understanding of everything that is going on inside of me. Thanks for all the input. I would have never understood the importance of proper testing without it.

Bionic 880 is very expensive investment and didn t provide benefit for everyone(%97 success rate not true)

searching4truth - that's a smart decision.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I'm investing in a Coil machine. However, the medical therapy that benefited me the best was IV Vancomycin, and other IV antibiotic therapies. They likely won't solve my problems but they definitely gave me some sort of life worth living. They are my last line of defense but the risks associated have kept me from using it as a long term therapy.

My hope is the Coil machine improves my condition.

Searching - I don't know if I would even bother tsting for co-infections. They too are unreliable. If you have a good LLMD he will treat co-infections anyway based on symptoms.

The heavy metals test is a must. It is cheap (under 100) and its easy and reliable.

"what would you do?"

I'd explain to my parents that I may need to try several different treatments before finding one that works. Then I'd make sure I had a really good LLMD who could help me find one that works.

Lyme is like peeling an onion which makes it impossible to pick only ONE treatment.

Since I have been unable to tolerate any treatments, I would like to try Hansa or dr k.
