i was suppose to start plaquenil with biaxin in dec.i tried plaquenil 3 doses and started getting the fullness,fuzzy feeling in head and neck pain. so then i tried biaxin and 4 days in severe vertigo started.i am so sensitive to meds but am starting to wonder with my gi issues and back pain if plaquenil would benefit me.i just cannot believe you would herx so soon with plaquenil,but i have seen it with other meds.i hope it would get my inflammation down.

I just started plaquenil by itself per my LLMD's recommendations because he said many people have trouble with the side effects in the first few weeks....I take only 200mg per day and had alot of problems with headache pain, anxiety, and stomach pain in the first two weeks.....Now, that's pretty much gone and I feel like I'm "herxing" in the third week (aching all over but no other symptoms)...
For the tummy problems, you may want to try to Maalox with it...it really helps....
Remember that plaquenil takes awhile to build-up in your system so it may take about 3 weeks before you herx on it....
why don't you start slowly on it...remember, too, that it can take up to 2 months before you can see the results on it/feel bettter on it....Good Luck...
