how long do you take it?

in Germany, where I am from, they say 10 days is maximum with a dose of 800mg. (the oral type of the medication)

I think many people here are much longer on it! is that correct?
how long?
benefits?

kind regards

Wow, I had a doc(non llmd) tell me I could be on it(1gm) for years... not sure what the protocol is really...

I have been on Flagyl for several weeks and have another month until my next appt. I really am interested in the answers people give to your question. When I take it I feel like I am swallowing something toxic (feel that way w/ Ceftin too). I worry about being worse off due to the antibitoics I am on!

We were told by our LLMD not to take any longer than 2 months, then switch to tindamax, and then plaquenil..

I took flagyl for 4 months, at a higher dose than you mention.

I felt awful on it for the first two months, then I started to have longer and longer periods of feeling good.

Flagyl was very beneficial. It moved me from a long plateau (over a year) of being at 50% functioning to about 85%

Regular liver function tests are important.

I took 250 mg of flagyl 3 times per day for 2 months. It killed the cyst form of lyme.

This was 7 years ago. In March, it will be 6 years since I completed my treatment and I am still symptom-free, enjoying my life.

So, it worked for me.

In my case, I had never been given anything for the cyst form of lyme and had been on antibiotics for 2 years. When I changed lyme docs, the new doc said all of my lyme had converted into the cyst form. That is why he treated me with flagyl for 60 days.

I didn't take the flagyl alone. First I took it with high dose amoxicillin (with probinecid) and then I took it with levaquin.

very interesting, german LLMDS subscribe metro only 10-12days. i always thought that it's pretty useless...

indeed, very intresting - exactly what I was awaiting.
but I'm still impressed of your results/benefits!
especially that there is (until now) no one who is saying "flagyl made no difference for me".

is that flagyl our key to LIFE?! I ll give it a try...

did you all take it orally or IV?

Im working on my combo now, i think i ll take mino, zith and flagyl for sure. then what I'm thinking of is a cell wall buster! I think that would be very important too! anyone knows about an other oral cell wall buster like omnicef or amoxi?

I have been on omnicef and zithromax oral. Omnicef for three months now and zithro added three weeks ago. I was kept on omni since the LLMD felt it had broken through the brain blood barrier and helping with some of my cognitive symptoms.

some studies claim that plaquenil is pretty useless. the poor mans plaquenil is artemisia, because it does the same thing, to some degree.

i've seen some healing reports where the patients didn't take plaquenil. i have trouble with plaquenil because im highly sensetive to some drugs.

but that infos on the metro is just great. it's easy to get in germany and most here seemed to make superb progress on it!

Many years ago, before I had Lyme, I took flagyl for a urinary infection.

Well, one day I suddenly became aware I was sitting on a stool in a building, and I had something in my hand. I didn't know what it was, what I was doing there, or where "there" was.

After much working it out, I came to understand that I was in the Post Office at work, sitting by a mail sorting case, and I had a letter in my hands.

This state is called "Transient Global Amnesia."

I stopped taking Flagyl immediately.

Please read all the data on possible adverse effects before starting on it. It may be good for some, but not for all.

Best,

Cass A
