I finally got my Chlorella tablets from Vitacost today. I got a bottle of King Chlorella with 600 tablets for $24.
My LLMD recommended I take 7 tablets before bedtime. Is this a safe starting dose or too high/low? I've never tried this product in my life.
I've started pumping up the Red Root tincture doses more now. Gotta try something. I'm up to 15-20 drops per dose.
I think this Chlorella brand is OK. My LLMD said they sell it in their office even, but the online price was MUCH better.

I don't know. I haven't taken any in quite awhile. I just ordered some from Swanson. It was 300 tablets for $8+ .. but may be low mg .. not sure.
Knowing how you react, I would begin slowly!

I took the BioPure and the Mercola brands of Chlorella. But my doctor said to take it 10-15 tablets before each meal, so that as my body produced bile for digestion, the chlorella would bind to the toxins in the bile.
I had no issues with chlorella -- no stomach upset, but also did not notice any difference/changes over 2 months when I took it on a regular basis.

Chlorella doesn't have a "dose" that I know of.
You need to take the chlorella 30 minutes before eating so that the chlorella is in place to absorb the toxins and doesn't just add bulk to your food. This is advice from Dr. K.
I would do the same for any fiber or binder, like bentonite clay or zeolite, for the same reason.
I found that the Swanson brand of chlorella had toxins in it, so I returned it for a refund. Check the tests for the brand you're using--the customer service people have access to them.
Dr. K's chlorella is supposedly particularly good for taking heavy metals out. Any chlorella removes toxins.
Best,
Cass A

Can you take chlorella safely if you still have amalgams in your mouth?
Cass, you mentioned Dr. K's chlorella. Would that be Biopure?
I was given a sample of chlorella from a company called therawfoodworld.com. Last night I nervously took four of them before going to bed. Had a tiny upset stomach but nothing that kept me awake. This morning I actually feel a bit energized.
I'm thinking of taking more of this if it's safe to do with amalgams in my mouth. What's the thinking on this?

I have been taking chlorella all along, but my LLMD said take it between meals (up to 30 a day). I started slow with five a day since it sends you running to the bathroom!
I was told not to take it at night since I take my probiotics at night and it would remove them from my system.
There are so many different way the docs want it taken so just follow his instructions.

If you take it before meals and you take meds with the meal, aren't you making them null and void?
I take meds with each meal.

I take meds with my meals too (except at lunchtime).
So maybe take the chlorella right before lunch? but then again, I take my probiotics right before lunch.
Ugh just can't find the right time slot to make all this fit into the schedule!
Maybe in the mid afternoon or so when I take my supplements? will it make the supplements null and void?

Chlorella should be taken on an empty stomach is what I've heard.
I take mine at least an hour away from other meds - especially minerals.
Seek - I would start slowly - like one a day see how you do and then increase by one when you can.
I take three pills 2 x per day but started slow because my Dr's office said that some people can herx on Chlorella.
I like to take my second dose at bedtime when I'm on an empty stomach.

I would highly recommend you splurge for Biopure chlorella as other brands such as King are known for having some toxic substances such as mercury (the irony....I know..)
DK's stuff is super pricy but worth it. Once you use Biopure you will see the huge difference in quality and realize it is the only real option.
Best.

- I'm referring to Kyoto brand. How does one know if it has toxins in it??

Agree with djf,
And if you want it too last just rotate it with other binders.
Don't take it everyday.
Take charcoal, pectin, clay, bentonite, etc

Dr H's office even mentioned this brand. Am I missing something?
I was looking at the Biopure website. I can't afford those super high prices. I don't know how anyone can afford treating exclusively with that brand. Ouch. I wish I could seriously.

To find out if the chlorella has toxins in it, you ask to have a copy of the most recent test results.
Love,
Cass A
PS--since saw somewhere that for BioPure chlorella, the suggested "dose" is 12 of the small tablets. You can work this out for some other brand by knowing what the mg/tablet is for each.
I've used several different brands of chlorella--don't notice a big difference as yet. However, I'm concentrating now on heavy metals, so am taking the BioPure brand at this time.
