It actually made a huge positive improvement in that symptom for me when I was on it.

Biaxin was a terrible med for me. I only lasted on it about 4-5 days. Each day I took it, my new symptom of anorexia (inability to eat) got worse and so did my new symptom of insomnia (inability to sleep). Plus, it gave me some anxiety as well. Hadn't had any before this.

By day 4, I could not bear to eat even one spoonful of food in an entire day and hadn't slept a wink all through the night. So, I called the doc and he laughed and said it was the Biaxin and changed my meds.

It took at least 3 days before I was able to eat and sleep normally after stopping the Biaxin.

So, be on the look-out for side effects like that. Biaxin can cause many side effects. But, that doesn't mean it will cause any with YOU.

Look for mood changes, hallucinations, and nightmares as some other bad sides. Don't put up with these things if you get them. Just call the doc and report it.

I was very nervous about starting on biaxin as I had severe anxiety problems already. Luckily, nothing changed when I was on biaxin. It worked for me!

Good luck.

When I first started on Biaxin it caused alot of anxiety. At that time I was taking 1,000 mg.s all at once.

When I split my dosage into am and afternoon the anxiety went away. For me it was a side effect of the med that decreased when I spilt my dose.
