Hi, I read that Azithromycin and Diflucan can interact in some pretty scary ways and cause major heart-related problems?
Is anybody taking this combo?
Also, is it necessary to take Diflucan every day or can it be take periodically?
Also, how effective of a cyst buster is Diflucan? My doctor prescribed this as a cyst buster over Flagyl. This was before I had Yeast symptoms. But now that I have yeast symptoms, I want to take it but am scared of the interaction with Zithromax.
Thanks in advance!

I took Flagyl, Zith, Diflucan combination without any problems. Didn't know Diflucan was a cyst buster though.

Both can prolong the QT interval-I couldn't take them together

One LLMD I had prescribed them together all the time- said it was no problem.
Another LLMD said it was a bad interaction and won't prescribe together.
I did take both together at one point and I was OK, but I would follow the advice of your LLMD that knows you and their prescribing formulas best.

- Isn't that only a problem for those with QT Syndrome??
but yes, be cautious anyway. Doubt you'll get very much cyst busting out of the Diflucan.
Don't take one pill and one there.. take for at least a few days in a row or you will have yeast building up a resistance to it.

You never know how you will react and when.
I was on that combo before and no problems just felt better and better everyday.
Second time in the same combo had bad side effects from it bradycardia my heart beat was in the range 50-60beats per min not good.
But yes allot LLMD prescribe the combo as my LLMD did and alot of them dont know that they can intereact badly.
Side effects in heart that are rare but they show up in some people and can kill.

I have taken both together several times with no problems.
I had no idea taking Diflucan here and there would cause yeast resistance. If I want to take it a few days weekly to keep yeast at bay, would that work as long as I take it 2 or 3 days in a row?
