Dr S claims that almost anyone has either Babesia/Bartonella or both. I don't know if that's true. What can you tell about that? He also claims that both are "undertreated"... whatever that means...

I also wanted to know, what do you think about coinfections. I ask because a lot of german LLMD's think you only have to treat lyme for a long time (open end therapy) with cyst busters. In some cases it works. I really wonder how, because sometimes the ABX combinations aren't really containing anything for the coinfections.

I'm not a typical case of lyme. I have weight loss, more brain and brainfog symptoms, i can sleep all day if i want. When i treated lyme, i got worse . When i got off the ABX it stayed worse. I was more fatigued. I also have burning nerves and numb skin. Also tingling and this neuro stuff. I don't look very sick beside that i'm love a lot of weight. I just look very tired and maybe drugged.

If i take HH2 i'm herxing. I feel like i'm having a bad flu when i take it. It happens a few hours after i take it. There's something going on... Does it also work on lyme?!

I suspect bartonella in my case. I'm not sure how to convince my LLMD to treat me for that because i'm not 100% symptomatic and i have negative blood tests... For example i only had night sweats when i was on antibiotics.

It's confusing with all the informations out there.

Tell me what you think i really could need some people with more experience!

In my 9 years of being involved with lyme disease, it is my experience that everyone with lyme has coinfections also. I don't know of a single person who had only lyme.

And, in my case, I didn't really have any symptoms of babs and bart, but yet I tested positive for them and I definitely had them.

I never had any sweats. I only had 2 episodes of burning of the soles of my feet, and that was during the afternoon. So, I know you can have these diseases but they are "hidden" beneath your lyme symptoms.

Just treating lyme disease never worked for me. I would relapse within 2 weeks of stopping the lyme meds. So, to me, that is the best way of knowing that you have an untreated coinfection--if you get well but relapse so quickly when you stop meds.

So, I can see the wisdom of some of our top lyme docs who automatically treat the patient for lyme, babs, and bart.

Now, since all of my lyme experience is with U.S. patients, it could be different in Germany.

However, Burrascano treated people from all over the world, and he always emphasized the need to treat coinfections every time I heard him speak--for those with lyme for at least a year. So, I would really try to get some treatment for both babs and bart. Maybe the doc would agree to it as an experiment. Then, if you react to the treatment, he would consider that evidence to continue treating.

I hope you are taking the Burrascano recommended supplements, anti-yeast diet, and weight lifting for 1 hour every other day. The weight lifting will boost your immune system. The supplements will give you back what the lyme and other diseases have taken from your body--needed for health. And, the anti-yeast diet will cut down on a person's symptoms, sometimes dramatically.

My doctor had me take sublingual (under the tongue) vitamin B12 for nerve symptoms. So, you may want to give that a try for yours. It worked for me.

Sorry, I don't know what HH2 is.

It is now 6 years since I completed my lyme treatment and I am still symptom-free, enjoying my life.

See my post on this thread. It describes my extreme muscle weakness. I had many, many other symptoms besides this, but this was constant for at least 5 years.

I wonder if this could be a yeast case and that is why you feel worse after ABX?

Only a possibility.

I learned somewhere too that ABX can cause collitis as a side effect so that could be something to check into.

Best, CI
