I barely ventured outdoors all week and when I did I wore SPF 50... even so, my face is so red it hurts. Staying indoors isn't really an option with my work. I guess it's the Doxy that's making me photosensitive-- are there any alternatives without this side effect? (Planning to talk to LLMD about it next week)

I had the same problem and I got a red blister reaction on my hands. It is definitely the doxy. Given your combination of drugs you could probably drop the doxy, but your llmd needs to tell you that. I switched to minocycline with rifampin, but I was going after Bartonella/Lyme.
In the meantime, go to extreme measure to protect yourself.

Same reaction here. Nose, lips, hands bright red with blisters on hands and I also sepnd much of the time outside. I managed through last summer but it was difficult. Stopped ABX in January but had relapse in 6 weeks. Think there is some Bart involvement based on symptoms.
Does the minocycline also have sun sensitivity?

I live in Florida, I had to ask my doctor to change my meds for the summer. There is really no way to stay out of the sun in Florida.
I tried to stay out of the sun, but when spring came, my hands got an aweful red rash. Right on my knuckles. It felt like pins prickling me. And, it itched, but if I scratched it, it hurt.
The only way I put it together where the heck the rash came from was because was there was one spot on my knee too. And, I asked myself, where are your hands and your left knee so close together. Well, I got the burn from driving. Only a couple of minutes a couple of times a day, but it added up enough to give me a sun burn.
So, that did it for me, even staying inside, I got burnt and it was very uncomfortable. So, I asked the doctor to change me. Minocycline isn't as sun sensitive, but there is still some sun sensitivity, so be careful. But, my doctor was willing to change my meds for the summertime.
