I finished up 90 days of low dose abx using Clindamycin and Zithromax separately.

Dr. suggested Mesosilver (collodial silver).

I told him I was uncomfortable taking it and asked for other choices.

Since I am allergic to Tetracycline he recommended Avelox.

After reading the FDA black box warnings for this I definitely am not comfortable taking this.

I have not heard back from him.

I am assuming he's tired of my refusal to take some of the things he's recommended including Benicar and Questran in the past.

So, I suppose I will continue my Samento/Banderol/Olive Leaf extract and other pills.

I would be interested in hearing feedback on the Avelox.

thanks

Is the black box warning about tendon damage??

I couldn't take it because it affected my heart. But I have A-fib.

Black box warning is about rupturing of tendons.

They say to take plenty of magnesium to help prevent it.

Avelox is a Quinolone like Levaquin, Cipro, and Factive. This is a very helpful class of medicines.

Have you tried other options that you feel are safer? If you have and you are still sick then Avelox may be worth a try.

I took Avelox without any issues. You may want to up your magnesium as a precaution though.
