I have noticed that since I have been taking Magnesium it has really helped with my heart issues, but it occurred to me today that it could be making the fatigue worse. I take it twice per day morning and night.

Does anyone else take it in the morning? Does it make your chronic fatigue worse?

According to Dr. B's guidelines you need to take it twice per day, so I am wondering if I will continue to benefit taking it just once at night.

Maybe try taking it at lunch instead? Or see what happens if you only take your evening dose for a few days...

Do you take B-complex vitamins? If not, doing so may help offset the fatigue from the magnesium also.

And be aware too that magnesium can inhibit absorption of medications to some extent (some meds are more susceptible to magnesium than others), so you might want to discuss this with a pharmacist if you are taking any prescription or OTC meds...

I have been cutting back on all my supplements due to esophageal problems, so I am only taking the ones that I absolutely have to. I think B-Vitamins would probably be a good idea, I never really considered them and should know better. It seems the capsules and tinctures are what are really causing harm.

I also wasn't aware that magnesium can affect the absorption of other meds. Well I knew about Calcium being affected but I wonder if it applies to herbs as well...

Thanks for the input you have me thinking now.

Also you need to take your mag with no food. otherwise the calcium in the food will cancel out the mag. My endo told me that. I take mine in the am and pm. But it is nature's muscle relaxant so maybe at night with you only at first.It will help you sleep. What type are you taking? Mag glycinate is the only kind I take because it does not hurt the stomach.

I tried the mag glycinate but it didn't help my palpitations as much.. I heard it was a better option but for me mag. citrate seemed to work better on heart symptoms. I sleep very well at night so I know the magnesium is making me drowsy and relaxed.

Interesting about the food.. I sometimes do take it with meals.. I'm glad I asked this question, getting some good feedback.. [Smile]

Interesting, I tried mag. glycinate and it caused me to have heart palpitations...sent me to an urgent care center because it was so bad.

I've been noticing that when I take magnesium my heart palps get worse.

I really do notice that some forms of magnesium tend to aggravate the condition. Mag. Glycinate is one of the best as far as absorption, but maybe it absorbs too quickly or somehow affects the heart adversely.

I found that my muscles felt weaker and I felt more tired after taking Magnesium (the one recommended in the Burrascano guidelines). I took it before bed on 2 nights, and felt weird in the AM. I am going to avoid taking it again.

I have been taking Magnesium Gluconate. This seems to be a more unusual form. Does anyone know about the Gluconate form? Also, what dosage?

I see that Dr. Burranscano recommends magnesium L-lactate dehydrate. He states DO NOT rely on "cal-mag", calcium plus magnesium combination tablets, as they are not well absorbed.
