Has anyone else ever had a cramping type pain in their tongue? My tongue issues are so frustrating. Some times it feels a bit swollen, but like today it feels like I have a cramp.
My llmd did not seem to know what it is. I've researched and found so many different things. I would love to hear from others with this problem.

I have had certain tongue and under my tongue pain that I can't really pinpoint or explain...certain days it's compeletely fine and others my tongue burns or it just feels like it is swollen or there is a pressure/pain underneath it.

I believe it must be nerve pain. I have nerve sensations like burning and numbness on my tongue, but not pain, but I have nerve pain other places so why not the trigeminal or facial nerve inflammation causing pain?

yes Ive had tingling/burning sensations on very tip of my tongue on many occassions

My daughter has complained of pain in her tongue. It comes and goes but the last time she actually had trouble eating because of the pain.
It has cleared up on its own again.
Have no idea what it is either but your not alone.

I get tongue cramps or spasms too occasionally. It's always on the left side of my tongue. Yesterday was probably the most intense cramps I've had yet, but today I've hardly had any.
It comes and goes but I can't figure out what's causing or triggers it. Any more thoughts on this?

I'm a Speech therapist and I've heard about tongue pain/cramps, but usually in the elderly.
Ask your LLMD about the possibility of glossopharyngeal neuralgia.
Treatment is usually antiseizure type medications.
Same type of treatment for most neuralgias.
That sounds so painful.
I hope your LLMD can sort this out for you.

The hypoglossus nerve goes through and affects the tongue. Forgot how exactly it was worded when it happened to me. Google "hypoglossus nerve tongue Klinghardt" and you will find the explanation. If you are detoxing, it also happens through the tongue. Mine used to turn black. The dental/metal toxins are most likely involved more than anything else. I had Neural Therapy into that area, painless, many times. That is a Dr. K. favorite therapy especially when so many nerve ganglia are involved. It supports the detoxing of the different areas. My tongue then would release the toxins and turn very black for a couple three days.
