I have been on Mepron and zithro since late November. On the 29th of March I started Bactrim DS. I have had increased anxiety, air hunger and less energy.

I guess this is a herx, right? Anyone else on this combo and getting better? Thanks

PS A lot more confusion too! I tried to put this message in twice.

Have to clarify that I added Bactrim DS to the Mepron/zithro combo. I also take artemisinin. Wish I could wipe this out!

How do you know you are still dealing with Babesia? 2-4 months of Mepron/Zith usually is suffice

ny, I tested positive in November. It is babesia duncani which is pretty resistant. It takes 4 months for the red blood cells to turn over so you usually take Mepron at least 5-6 months -

As you are supposed to take abx for two months after you are symptom free, I will obviously be on it a lot longer. It is expensive. That is why I started Bactrim Ds.

missing -"Only" on all those meds! I guess it is a good thing I added the Bactrim.

@nefferdun,

I'm right there with you!

I'm currently on Mepron/Zith/Bactrim DS all high dosage on all three!

I never experienced a herx, but since starting this combo I've been up and down.

Some days are horrible other days I feel like I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and then downhill again.

I've experienced anxiety, tightness in my lungs, extreme spaciness and fatigue...

I pray that this nightmare ends soon, b/c I don't think I can handle living like this for much longer...
