How long did u take oral antibiotics before u decided to take the IV route?

I was told to start IV Rocephin before oral abx? I did not since insurance denied it so I have been on oral abx for 4 months now. No IV abx in my future it seems...possible IM Bicillin shots.

I would exhaust all Oral methods...then IV.
I just crossed this bridge last week, and decided to continue treating orally since I'm responding well.
I'll save IV "IF" all other avenue's are exhausted...It seems a lot of people relapse's on IV, so my decision was to wait if needed!
But, if you have given abx time and orals are not working...I'd go IV!

I was on oral abx for 6 months and getting worse instead of better, then went to IV for 8 months and showed improvement.

My husband did oral antibiotics for 8 months and was deteriorating and was in serious condition. He had about 20 months of IV antibiotics and made great improvement. He has been antibiotic free (although he does still receive IVIg) for over a year and a half and is almost completely recovered.

I did orals for two years before switching to IV. I had responded well at first to orals, but had adrenal exhaustion after caring for my Lyme-ridden daughter and got sicker.
I've now been on IV for nine months, still with no improvement, though it has been off and on again while we dealt with mold issues.
My daughter went to IV almost immediately because she was so ill and nauseous. She did 2 1/2 years of IV and is now well.
One of the reasons my LLMD decided to try IV with me was due to Dr. B's guidelines and new research that showed his patients who did IV were more likely to get better.

I only been on orals since Feb & my llmd wants me to start IV Rocephin because i have neuro lyme. Im just waiting for my insurance to approve
