I suspect I may have passed this on to my 20-something year old.(I was only recently dx myself and I've probably had it since age 10). She only had a Labcorp test done and IgG was positive. Not sure about any specific bands. She was told she was exposed but does not have an active infection. She does have neuropathy and ADD so I am concerned. I think she should proceed with Igenex...does this seem reasonable?

If the IgG was positive I would get her to a Lyme doctor who will treat her. No reason to keep testing, you have all the proof you need.

I honestly don't understand how one comes to a definitive positive dx from lab testing. Does it have to include both positive IgG and IgM? Is IgM the past or recent infection? Can someone break this down for me?

Well I dont know the science behind your questions, but if the test shows positive for Lyme, and she has the symptoms, then it is extemely likely she has it. Best to take her to an LLMD and get your next steps from him.
