Do you think so. My ebv was so crazy in 1988, thats when I suspected I got the lyme, but just told it was ebv, take a vacation, get married, have kids, its due to stress. Two years later, had burning throat constantly, white growths in tonsils for forever. This wnt on for years until 2002 my eye was in my cheek, neurologist said from migraine even though I didn't have one and finally tested CDC positive since 2002. What do you think. In hell since last remission which was 11/09. EBV tick borne?

Yes, I do! (prob through mosquitoes too)
My first big crash was "mono" when I was 17. I'm pretty I was lymed about 9 yrs before that.

huh-very interesting
my son was pos lyme (elisa) and ebv in hs
he and daughter both had ongoing problems with tonsils
hers finally taken out in college - bad probs after living in moldy dorm room
doc said never saw such a bad set of tonsils
i could not get docs to take out my sons even tho he constantly had infects
i believe his infects stunted him some...hes 5'11 but his sister is 6'

I was dxed with mononucleosis a few years into having lyme (and not knowing it..).
The dr who dxed me wrote in with the test results that I should be better in a couple of weeks. I don't know what part of "I've been sick for almost three years" HE didn't understand!
I know I have read in the past that EBV is a common co-infection with lyme?
My LLMD thinks the mononucleosis was unrelated to lyme.

Interesting theory about EBV being tick borne.
I'm not sure I buy it. I think that 95% of human beings have EBV but never have symptoms because the immune system keeps it at bay.
Then when Lyme comes along, it does its number on the immune system and then the immune system can't fight viruses effectively the way it used to, so then the EBV becomes full-blown and symptomatic.
Even mercury alone can cause the terrain issues in the gut which cause parasites and yeast to thrive, depleting the immune system and allowing EBV to come out without lyme and co's even entering the picture.
I'm really reluctant to believe that EBV is tick-borne since virtually everyone has it in their system, whether dormant or not.

I agree with Chaps. Seems far-fetched to me.

That is true about most everyone already carrying the virus.
I had always thought I contracted EBV after the lyme. I had never thought that I was likely carrying it before, and the lyme just allowed it to resurface!
Good point as to why we see the two together so often.
