I am chronic Lyme. Husband pulled out small embedded tick last night. It was dried out appearing. We bagged it and did the treatment. Today the spot is bright red 1/2 inch spot. the confusing thing is that the tic really seemed dried out and embedded and very dead though he'd camped out on Friday. It was so small and could have been missed or taken for a scab. Would a red spot appear so soon like that or it attach till dead though small?

are you able to identity it as a tick? if you don't have a good magnifying glass...take a digital picture of it and enlarge (zoom) it on your camera!! works great!!

My husband just pulled out a small tick from the crease of his arm and there was a red bump about 1/2 there for a week after. I think it is just the irritation of the bug being in that area and the poking to get it out!

Are you on abx now? He was not so they put him on doxy for a month or two to be sure.

If one of my family members had a tick and a red spot, I would be sure I got them on doxycycline 200 mg twice daily. You only have one chance to treat early.

Erikjh, I was just saying, if it were me and a family member had a tick and a red spot like this poster's husband does, I'd treat. Sorry if something got lost in the translation .... that happens with written word, and sometimes even with spoken word.

Its normal to have redness and irritation. My daughter had a tick on her that wasnt even attached and the site was a little red for a couple weeks. LLMD said that was normal.

LOL, I thought you were telling me to take you advice to treat any tick. Like I said, hard to tell when we don't have the benefit of tone of voice.
