i took my humaworm about 5 yesterday and at 8 i was in trouble.
the right side of my face felt swollen. even my tongue seemed swollen and i felt like i couldn't breathe, like my throat was closing.
i couldn't swallow and had to sleep sitting up.
i got so panicked i got up and walked the floor even massaging my throat. i had a choking sensation.
it scared me so bad i didn't take the dose this morning.
has anyone had this? was it a herx or allergic reaction? somebody mentioned they had a problem swallowing after taking something and i remembered that.
can anybody help?

I had to sleep sitting for a week after Zhangs AI. I also got pain. I think this is not a herx, better stop it for now. This is serious.
Can you try taking something else or just each single herb and figure out which is bad? I thought this is from Myasthenia Gravis.
Hope Gael will answer soon. You should call Humaworm for details. For today give your system a break. I also was not in the ER because I think they will give you steroids.

Sounds like an allergic reaction. I would stop. Call the Humaworm people tomorrow.

ps - I've noticed alot of throat symptoms here lately...
There was another one, too, but I don't recall which thread it was in. Kind of weird...?
I'd stop the Humaworm in any case. Are you taking anything else that could cause this?

My dad has a severe allergy to poultry and what you're describing is exactly what happens when he eats anything containing it or even something cooked on the same surface as poultry. You could die from your air supply being cut off from swelling. He has to have an epi-pen on him at all times just in case. I personally wouldn't risk taking it again, but you can always ask your doctor.

Parasites can cause an allergic response especially if they are attacked with antiparasitics.
I open my capsules and put them in some applesauce and take a little at a time with meals. That way I can control the dose and see how I react.

if you decide to try the Humaworm again, you might consider doing it this way and starting with a low dose.
You can also take a benedryl beforehand or incorporate some vitamin C in your regime which is an antihistamine.
The parasites are hibernating in the small intestine and can cause spasms as a dieoff reaction which can cause spasms throughout the G.I. tract and the throat.
An epi penn on hand is also a good idea. Dr. K. gave one to a friend of mine when he prescribed alinia. Of course check with a medical professional.
