It's tough trying to live a normal life. I have now discovered the reason the doxy rash wasn't getting better is because I had developed cellulitis, but found that out after I was bitten by a tick (was embedded). I forget how immune compromised we are and tend to do things that put myself at risk. I was bitten on my upper arm and by the time I saw the doctor three days later, most of my upper arm was swollen, erythematous, and indurated.
Since changing out my antibiotics though, I have started to feel better. Stopped the doxy and Nystatin and started rifampin and azithromycin.
I look back on it now and I should have known I had the infection even before the tick bite because I also had injured the top of my foot a couple of weeks before that and the sore was not healing, was very red, and the redness had spread to one of my toes.
Geez! Maybe I should just crawl back into my hole.

Yep, less than two weeks ago. I thought long sleeves, pants, and boots were enough. After my outing, I was too worn out to take a shower and just fell into bed early that evening. Next morning, I reached over to scratch an itch I had on my arm, and there she was... latched on tight. I was none too happy. Doc says I must be really tasty for her to have hunted me down like that.
