Well I can say I did very well on Bicillin. They didn't feel good but I made so much improvement on that abx....The best out of all I have taken. I would probably be in remission if it wasn't for my insurance company. I was on the injections for quite a while and improved slowly but I couldn't believe it I was out dancing having fun again....I was pretty much bed bound 2 years before that.
Then out of nowhere my insurance decided they would not pay for it and I stopped. I was well but not completely and I ended up relapsing slowly. So stick with it. Maybe it will also work for you..... I wish I could have continued. I didn't realize how great I felt until I started going down hill again! xxxxx

The shots are not that painful. I would numb the injection site with ice 20min before getting the shot. Relax, try not to tense your muscle (this is very important). Make sure that whoever gives you the shot injects it slowly. If I pushed it too fast my muscles would twitch and cramp up. Afterwards walk around for a minute, apply heat and massage the injection site. These things will help prevent/reduce the soreness.

It was uncomfortable, but paired with Plaquenil and Zith, I herxed like crazy. I killed a good deal of the Lyme with Bicillin. Stick with it for as long as possible.

A warm soak in the tub, and massage the area... before and after the injection will help with pain, and help to prevent or at least minimize a knot.
Remember to pull back on the needle first to make sure that there isn't any blood before you inject.

i take mine out 1 hour in advance. Emla cream is your friend.
Ice makes it worse for me. Heat after helps. Some injections bleed pretty good after, at least for me.
You wil likely feel tired for awhile and body pain. They can take months to see real good effects so be patient. Not a quick fix.

Hi- thanks everyone...update
got my first shot last night! sore today and having a herx already! (I think) nightmares all night, chest pains, extra twitching, nerve tingling more than usual.
The needle entering wasn't so bad because the nurse was massaging and poking my skin before and during insertion so all I felt was her fingers. But the massaging during and after hurt more.
I will be taking this with biaxin, tindamax and boluoke for biofilms. I think this is a good combo and I'm hopeful!

Good Luck. Took a few times for me to get comfortable doing them; I gave them to myself. After a few times, it was no problem. I did it standing up - best help was making sure my weight was on the opposing leg so my rear-end muscles were relaxed on the injection side.
Pushing in the med very slowly minimized how sore it would be for me. I also left it out of the fridge for 30-60 minutes prior to injection. Hope you see good results! TS

The herxs are probably close to being the worst for me (except maybe Mepron and Levaquin). But.......the best drug so far as feeling great once I got through the herxing. The one disappointing thing for me is that once I stopped the injections, symptoms came right back. Bicillin doesn't seem to kill anything, just keep me stable.

I had alot of improvement on Bicillin and no bad reaction I just took it standing shifting weight from one side to the next as I got 1 shot in each cheek for 16 weeks.
I took it with Biaxin, Plaquenil and doxy/mino.
I didnt massage or touch the area before or after but I did walk around for at least 5 mins following the injections.
Good Luck with more. They get better as you go and you find the better spots to do them.

Rene: Sorry to hear that. I am a bit worried that if that happens, I am just making the bacteria stronger because they learn how to hide from such a strong medicine. *sigh*
