I was prescribed Dapsone with a combo of several other abx. I haven't heard of Dapsone being used to treat Lyme/Co-infections..
I'd love to hear about anyone's experiences or more in general about this antibiotic being used for Lyme & Co.

I think it is used in Leprosis and some other infections.

thanks, Maradona, yeah I read about the Leprosis... interesting that it would be Rx for Lyme... maybe Dapsone is extra good at penetrating tissues since it's primarily used for a skin infection?
*scratching head*
I've been playing phone tag w/ my LLMD and based on my current symptoms/progress, he called in Dapsone and several other new abx to my pharmacy.
I trust his judgement on what to take, so I'll take it. Normally we discuss new drugs and he explains what is going on, but we haven't talked about Dapsone yet. I'm a curious creature.. I want to know WHY Posted by seibertneurolyme (Member # 6416) on :
It is used a s a malaria drug in pets I think. I am asuming you are being prescribed dapsone for babesia.
