It's been a while since I had my heavy metal levels checked, so I decided it is time that I do so. I've always used Doctor's Data but this time I was given the Genova test kit.
I know Genova is a good lab but does any one have any feedback if it is just as good as Doctor's Data for checking heavy metal toxicity. It's a provoked test with DMSA, just as Doctor's Data uses.
In fact, it calls for 500mg of DMSA taken at 6:00 a.m., noon and 6:00pm on the day of the collection.
I would appreciate hearing from those of you who may have some information to share.

Hi. I've never had a metals test done at Genova but it seems to me that the DMSA spread out may be a better way to go that all at once.
With DD they have you take the DMSA all at once, (according to your body weight), and after a few hours the DMSA is excreted and the body starts to hold onto the metals again and or redistributed.
When doing a heavy metal chelation per Andrew Culter this is the method he uses, every couple hours, to keep a steady supply of dmsa in the body to adhere to the metals.
Try it and see. Hopefully someone here has done it at Genova and can help.

I was thinking the same thing about the DMSA. I always used Doctor's Data in the past and as you have pointed out the DMSA is not spread out during the course of the day. It seems to me, too, that that is a better approach.

Dr. K. uses the Doctor's Data and oftentimes their hairtest instead or both. I prefer the hairtest because it also gives the essential mineral status, and if that looks poor and the metals are not coming out in the hair, I know they are somewhere in the body. Have not run into anyone with serious Lyme or chronic disease who does not have metal toxicity as the base.
Challenge test can be not showing or hardly showing any metals if the body is not able to release them for other reasons (emotional, structural, ongoing exposure, KPU, essential mineral deficiency, etc.) I never showed much through the Challenge test, but showed the clear retention through the hairtest. Once I started to clear the allergies in the DNA to toxic metals with Allergie Immun, and adding a lot of absorbable minerals, eliminating all other allergies besides metals, the metals started dumping.
Never used other than Doctor's Data tests. Similar with Dr. K.

Thanks Gigi. I've done many Doctor's Data provoked DMSA urine tests during the past 15 or so years and never had problems mobilizing the metals. The tests were always revealing and showed high levels of different metals at various times.
It's been a while since I did chelation to get rid of them, so I just want to see where I stand. I've also done hair tests. In the old days, that was the first test that was available. Now I'm going way back may be 1987!
