What is the dosage on the doxy?? $234 seems WAY too expensive.
Shop around if you go the doxy route. Kroger, Wal-Mart, Market Street all offer it at $4 prescription here.

It's because the generic isn't made anymore in suspension so it's brand and she has a $200 deductible....

you can cut the doxy for easy swallowing and put in applesause!! much cheaper than suspension!!

I thought you couldn't use Doxy on kids. I think Doxy is one of the medications where you have to avoid dairy, but I'm not positive.
Amoxycillan works and is probably cheaper. Plus, it doesn't taste too bad. My 8 yr old is on it. The only thing with Amoxy is that it has a real short half life, therefore treatment must be quite frequent as a large dose will not last long enough. I.e. better to do 5.0 ml/3 times a day, then 7.5 twice a day. Dose is dependent on weight.
I don't know if you're using an LLMD but I think with Amoxy most of them like to add Probencid. We haven't tried that yet.
