And the base of my skull feels tingly and wierd. I also have a lot of pain in my shoulder blades. This seems to happen to me a lot, but I always get so scared.

I can't describe my brain symptoms exactly like that but I have been very messed up mentally. I am getting better on babesia treatment.

Each of the infections causes mental/emotional problems. I have been through the wringer with all of them.

I think with babesia I was not getting enough oxygen to my brain. I felt very out of it

Thanks for the reassurance. It can be so scary. Happens mostly at night before bed, but happens sometimes in the day too. Good to know I'm not alone.

LNSS,

I have had this symptom and while it has occurred intermittently, it has been by far, one of the scariest feelings for me.

It does feel like the brain is shutting off. going numb....very hard to describe. It would happen to me at night when I was trying to fall asleep. I would shake my head like a dog does to try to get my brain going again....

I have posted about this before...i don't think many people experienced the 'shutting off' feeling. It can be very scary indeed.

I have the base of skull stuff too, I am always rotating my neck, massaging the base of my skull in order to try and get things going....

tingling, check, numbness, check......

have I described the way that you feel?

feelfit, Sorry I'm just getting back to you. Yes, that's exactly how I feel! have you found anything that helps it? I guess it's mind over matter and we just have to convince ourselves that we will be ok. It's so frightening to think you're not going to wake up in the morning!
So, do you think this is because of the Lyme? Do you think it will go away with treatment? And how long have you been on treatment? I just started! It's going to be a long road!
