I wanted to know which pain meds do any of you take that works without making you too tired? i took flexeril and that made me soo tired. I have mostly muscle and joint pain but also bone pain.

I cannot take any muscle relaxers or "valium" type meds. I suffer so badly from fatigue, that I live in fear of anything that I take that would make me sleepy. And I am super sensitive to any meds that make people sleepy, like the muscle relaxers, anti-anxiety (1/2 lowest dose pill will knock me out, make it almost impossible to wake up the next day and make me feel groggy the entire day!). The same goes for anything like Benadryl, cold medicine for night time, Tylenol pm...anything in that "class" of meds.
I do take a narcotic pain reliever when things get bad. It does not make me sleepy. I have added in Turmeric for pain (natural) which is helping some. I also take Naproxen, sometimes, but lately I have had to take my pain meds due to flares.
We are all so different, and it may just take you some time to find out what works well for you and provides you with (at least a little) better quality of life.

I take vicodin for pain, it doesn't make me sleepy at all, in fact it is the only time I can get some chores done and function semi-normally.

Tramadol seems to work without tiredness.

I agree with KTK... Tramadol, or Ultram, works really well for moderate to severe pain when taken routinely. Save the narcotics for major breakthrough pain.

tramadol is the only pain medicine that actually helps me and not give me any side effects.
i take 100mg every 4 hours when i am awake.
i don't know how i ever got through the pain before starting tramadol!
