I'm trying to be gluten-free and dairy-free because I've read that this is good for Lyme.

Does anyone know if butter contains enough milk to cause inflammation? Is it usually on the "not recommended" list?

Thanks

yah, I recommended to not use regular butter. A great alternative is Earth Balance, Soy Free version. Make sure its soy free because the soy we have in this country is mostly genetically modified. This will also lead to inflammation. I get mine at Henry's, Whole Foods, or Mother's market.

Take Care.

Ghee is clarified butter and has no milk solids. It has great detoxification benefits, Google it. Makes everything taste like lobster, LOL (drawn butter for lobster or crab is the same thing as ghee).

I just made ghee for the first time last week. It was very easy to do!

Thanks a ton for all the replies!! [Smile]

It looks like I'll have to find some ghee.

I'm surprised how many responses I got, and how quickly! Does that mean a lot of you are on a dairy-free diet?

Another question: Does whey protein powder also cause inflammation?

Does Ghee taste like butter? is it spreadable? Fattening?

No, Dairy never bothered me. I didn't do any better dairy free, I just use ghee often so know about it and its benefits.

Geet, pretty much tastes like butter, a little different without the milk solids. It's spreadable, you store it at room temperature or it's like stone.

Whey protein is good for inflammation. I used it daily the whole time I was sick. Be sure it's undenatured.
