I've heard that one of these labs has a fairly reliable test for Babesia duncani/WA-1. Has anyone had a positive B.duncani through these labs?

I'm asking for a friend in CA who is having major Babs symptoms. He is not a confirmed Lyme patient. No LLMD yet.

Thanks!!

Labcorp sends out the test to Focus. In the past this has been a reliable test -- there is a rumor that the powers that be are upset because the test is returning too many positive results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Quest may also send the test to the same lab but am not 100% sure.

Good grief. What will they do to us next?

Pretty sure they both use the same lab -- Focus, as mentioned.

As for being reliable... no idea. Unlike most Lyme/co-infection tests through Labcorp/Quest, it seems a very large percentage of Lyme people get a positive Duncani result (including myself).

It does seem suspicious in some ways. SO many positives. I still am on the fence on what to believe with this test from Focus.
