I feel like I am losing my mind. I have crazy symptoms that no docs (gastro, orthopedists, cardio, etc) have the answers for....

I had one tick bite when I was about ten years old. No symptoms or rash that I remember. Now I am 44 with 4 kids whom I love dearly, and I think that I made this dream of family a nightmare by giving them lyme.

None of us have a definite positive western blot. But we have something.

All of these are IgG.

Me: 23, 41 (gastro symptoms, palpitations,etc.)
14 yo: 28, 41 (joint pain, air hunger, abd pain)
9 yo: 41, 66 (psych issues--like bipolar)
5 yo IgM: 41 (attention, irritability)
21 month old: 41 (clinginess like in my 9 yo,
irritability)

We have an appt with doc in mo at the end of this month, but this is driving me crazy....what does this sound like to you???

Do you have any good naturopaths in Texas? I'd try to get to one, or to an LLMD. I dont know if you have Lyme, but there are a few things that can effect whole families: Mold in the house, Heavy metals in the water, think things that are in your house. Get to an alternative type Dr who can look into those things. And while your at it, do Igenex testing too-- for Lyme, many have negative western blots until they try Igenex.

#1 most important thing, you arent crazy, pay attention cause youre not imagining it, so keep looking for an answer.

Were there any IgM markers at all?

Do you have amalgams?

My whole family was getting sick in different ways (including the dog)...

I was looking environmental. I tested the water first, that was OK.

When I tested the air... the stachybotrys (black, deadly mold) count on the second floor where we all slept was 234,000 per square meter. Anything over 10 per square meter is not good.

My son and I also have Lyme and Bartonella(co-infection).

Not to mention we have heavy metal poisoning from the amalgams I had when I was pregnant... mercury is one of many toxins that crosses the placenta.

Toxins of all kinds (mold, heavy metals, parasites) can suppress the immune system and cause Western Blots to be negative - especially with labs like Quest or LabCorp. I had my Lyme test through IGenex. It is the most reliable.

Band 41 by itself is important but not specific to lyme. However, it indicates a spirochete infection and an MD should be able to rule out other spirochete infections by diagnosis.

Was this with Quest Lab?? If so, an Igenex test would likely show more bands. Quest does not test for all possible bands.

You will be in good hands in MO. You could also get checked for mycoplasma.
